Hello! My name is Tamra and I'm Canadian. I'm 13 years old. I've been over-weight pretty much my entire life. I'd gain a few pounds here and there and just blow it off but it's been accumulating slowly. I'm so sick of being the fat girl at school. None of my friends are over weight like me so I don't think any of them can elate, so I joined this forum looking for friends who can support me in this battle to lose weight. I also want to lose weight so I can live a long and healthy life. I've found out recently that I have a very high blood pressure and that's when I realized this is serious. I might as well start now because 10 years from now it could be a lot worse. And now since I'm still a kid I don't have very many responsibilities so I have lots of time to put into this thing. Anyways, I'm really interested in Japanese culture and I'm also learning the language in my spare time. I like playing badminton and my favourite band is the Dandy Warhols. I hope to make lots of friends here. Bye!

You've come to the right place; there are lots of nice people here who are friendly and supportive. You can look around to find a simple, but healthy eating style; just be careful to keep it balanced, cuz you're not finished growing yet ... OK?

Adding some kind of exercise activity is key for success; we have threads (groups) here for that too. What kind of activities do you enjoy? We also have a special Canadian thread in the SUPPORT forum called "SUPPORTIVE CANADIANS"; if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to come down there for help.
