Hello all, I was doing so great with my diet and maintaining. The holidays came and I blew up. I realy need some tips and motivation to encourage me. As of now I am changing my diet and adding light exercise.

Does anyone have any inspirational words for me? Any suggestions are welcome.

Currently I am 160 lbs and I would like to be 130.

Hey!

Exercise is a really good idea! The more the better--as long as you're not overdoing it. What kind are you planning?

Changing eating habits is also a key. It seems like those two go together. A lot of folks here don't think of it as "a diet" but as "a lifestyle change," one that will lead to us being able to keep the weight off once we've lost it.

You can do it!

Thanks so much Jay, I am going to look at it as a lifestyle change. That way the weight won't return.

Cool Look no further ...

Dear Focused:

Jo is so right; focus on one day at a time, and look around here every day.
I find just reading about others' struggles and successes helps me in some way. Like you, the Christmas season was sabotaging, but then I re-focused on my main goal which is sustainable, long-term health.

For me, managing my emotions is key. So, when I'm upset now, I just come here, instead of to the fridge or cupboards. I found banishing all the junk food out of my house one of the biggest helps; and next year, during the Christmas season, I am making some new healthy and permanent changes to our way of celebrating life.

Maybe start with 10 lb increments (3 x 10 lbs), which may not seem so daunting for you, right now. Just hang in there ~ a fellow encourager ... Rosebud.

Thank you guys so much. I realy needed to hear that. My emotions are a big part of me indulging so I guess managing stress is also a factor that I must include in my goals.
