Used to be an aerobics instructor and now...

Over the past two years my fitness level has gone downhill. When I was teaching my weight was around 145 lbs and I was happy and healthy. Now I'm at 179 lbs today - 1 lb short of what I weighed when I was pregnant. I have two kinds; a son who is 18 and a daughter who will be 14 in March.

I've lost focus and motivation in the way of my fitness and health. I do things I know I shouldn't like not get enough sleep, eat when I shouldn't, eat things that I shouldn't. I don't work out very often - maybe once - three times a month.

I'm hoping that I can find others in the same situation so we can help motivate each other and keep on track.

I know I'm happier when I'm healthier. I know I can do this.

Howdy, OK I confess I was never an aerobics instructor. My cardiovascular endurance has always been fairly poor. But somthing about your post rang a bell I think it was the I remember before children...

And the not getting enough sleep. My daughter is 2. I find getting enough sleep nearly impossible.

This site is truly motivational. Lots of good advice and support. Congrats for finding us and welcome.

I just joined 3 Fat chicks and saw your post. It sounded similar to mine. I never was an aerobics instructor but until very recently was in fairly good shape and good health. You can read my post for the whole story ("Didn't Know I had never been fat" under Introductions).

Good luck! Just take it one day at a time. Right now I am strongly fighting the urge to have my favorite chocolate ice cream. But I finally made it easy on myself by not bringing it home in the first place!!

One good thing to do to start is to increase your exercise. All it takes is going for a walk! You can easily do that every day or every other day, or three times a week, and you'll find it helps you feel better. This has been my experience.

Good luck!!
Jay
