Hi all - I'm a Fat Chick Too!

  • Hi everyone. I'm new here...just read about you guys in Oprah Magazine, and knew instantly this was a supportive community I'd want to be a part of.

    A bit about me... I'm 28, 5'8'' and currently 220 lbs (size 16/18) and very unhappy about it.

    Jan to Sept of last year, I lose 45 pounds and as of Sept 1, I weighed 189.
    From 5-630am each day I did an hour of cardio and 30 mins of weight training. I was eating very well (sensibly) and didnt feel deprived. I had NEVER felt better!
    I got laid off September 1, and my whole schedule/routine changed. I got thrown off, and in the last 6 months, I gained 30 pounds back.

    For now, I feel sad, disappointed in myself, and a bit overwhelmed. It took so much energy and focus and dedication to lose the weight and it came back so quick! I am here to read others blogs, to find the motivation to start again, to keep trying, because I know I can do it!!! And because I remember how great it felt to watch the number on the scale get smaller...and my body get tighter, strong and slimmer!

    My simple mantra...."Eat a little less, move a little more"
  • Dont feel bad about gaining the weight back. I've been there! Just look at it as a lesson of what not to do in the future and get back on track.
