New "Loser" Here! Perfect Fit Diet??

Hello all!

First off I am excited to have found this forum and site. I have struggled with weight for quite a while and there is such a variety of advice, tips and plans to choose from.
About me:
I am 27 years old and married with 3 kids (11, 4, 2) and I currently weigh in at 226. I have been on the "Rice Diet" for almost 3 weeks now and while I have lost weight I am not happy on this plan. I tried Atkins about 8 years ago and literally got SICK of meat and cheese and eggs all the time. I did not have much experience in the kitchen and basically ate the same thing all day every day for 2 weeks. Last year I lost a bit of weight following Slim Fast but I had surgery and never picked back up on it and now its hard for me to get back into it. I have just finished with this book called "The Perfect Fit Diet" and based on the information and the survey I took it is saying that Low Carb is the best choice for me.

I was wondering if anyone else is following the Low Carb plan in this book?? From what I read it appears it is a lot like South Beach.

Hi, welcome to 3FC :) It takes a while to find the right diet, doesn't it? They all work, but that doesn't mean we can live with them or even stick with them long enough to reach our goals. You'll find that a lot of us around here have hopped from diet to diet until we found the one that fit our own personal lifestyles and tastes :)

I loved the Perfect Fit Diet book! She makes each diet easy to follow. I don't think her low carb diet is like South Beach, though. You don't count carbs on South Beach, and a lot of the foods she suggests would not be allowed on SB because they are the wrong kinds of fats and carbs. We have a low carb forum that includes carb counting without diving in as deep as Atkins, if you want to give that a shot. We also have a great South Beach forum that is loaded with great info and people :D

I hope you'll find what you are looking for here :goodluck:
