New Chick!

So, I am not sure how to start this. It is all a bit new for me. I guess I should just start with hi... Hi.

I'm Kelly and I am here because I really need to make a change in my life. I am a curvy girl, and overall I am happy with my weight and shape. I like my curves and don't want to lose them. But I do carry a bit too much weight in my tummy (the worst and least healthy place to have extra weight) and so I would like to lose about 15 pounds. But more than that I really want to start eating better (I eat for every reason under the sun except true hunger) and exercising. I want to be a healthier me. But my problem is that every time I try to make these changes, I start off great but I quickly lose momentum. I make all these plans to eat right and make time to work out, but I very rarely follow through for more than a few days. I am just looking for a way to keep myself motivated and to keep myself accountable for what I do, or don't do.

I have decided that instead of making a plan with so many rules to follow, that I will start small this time. Take a few small changes and make them a part of my daily life. I have cut out all drinks other than water, tea and my usual 8 0z of OJ in the morning. I am also going to try a simple exercise plan called 8 Minutes in the Morning. (I can do 8 minutes, right?) I am also going to lower my sweets intake. I have a real sweet tooth, and that can get me into big trouble.

I am hoping that here I can find a way to really do these things, and to continue to do them, and to make them a permanent part of my lifestyle.

Hello, and welcome to 3FC. It really is the small things that make a difference. Gradual changes to your life can be sustained without making you feel deprived. You'll find 3FC has tons of support. Look through the various forums and then jump right in wherever it feels like a good fit.

Good luck.

Hi! I am not a doctor, just another dieter, but I think for a person of 5'4, 172 pounds is too high, most weight charts would say the top healthy weight is 145.Hope you don't think I am being too nosy , I am 5 '2 so I am pretty close to you. Awhile back when I started a diet wirh a goal of 150 I was told OK bbut you will still be obese What a hateful word.Good luck.
