Another newbie...at least to the site!
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hello and how excited I am to have found this website and forum. My name is Darcy and I live in New York State. I am 39 years old and have been overweight my whole life. I started the Sonoma diet last January and did very well until I could no longer afford the website. I did manage to maintain my weight loss until November when my father's death and my work situation just got the best of me and I regained every little pound I had lost! My husband and I are starting over on Sonoma today and I got online to find some support. I remembered the 3 fat chicks tickers from the Sonoma site and decided to check out the site. I am really glad I did. I find I do much better on a eating plan if I have support from online buddies. I don't know why that helps so much but it does. I also have to be careful not to take one little step over the line, I know some can but I cannot. I weigh daily and enjoy even the little fluctuations that a day can bring. I am off to check out some of the sub forums before eating a healthy breakfast! Darcy |
Hi. I joined this site last week and love it! I'm also from NY. I have been seeing a nutritionist to help me. I agree, I can't even think of having any of my "comfort" foods, because I just can't stop myself. I'm amazed that a friend of mine takes one day off a week from her diet and gets right back on it the next day, I would fail miserably if I tried that. To me it's an addiction and I can't be a "just one bite" person for the rest of my life!! I do slip up and it takes me a whole day to recover. I want to end this year thin, so I have to be real careful. Good luck, it's great that you and your husband are working on it together, I'm sure it's a big help.

Hi Darcy, I am new today and just read your post. I hope you have found the diet plan that works for you. I have just started south beach diet. It is so easy ( for me).
I wish you lots of luck.. The support is important. |
Thanks for the replies Shelby and losin! I am excited to start day two; down 2 lbs from yesterday thanks to water weight. :carrot:
I really do enjoy the Sonoma plan and it is relatively easy once you get through the cravings the first few days. I don't cut out diet soda(I know I should, but hey...a girl has to have a few vices) and that helps keep me going. One thing that the Sonoma plan taught me is to delay gratification a bit. If you think that you need that chocolate right now...wait an hour...if you can do that, then go ahead and wait a day...by then the cravings will have diminished. Of course it doesn't always work but it help! Have a good day everyone! Darcy |
Me Too!
Hi, just started the Sonoma on Sunday with my DH (dear husband) So far, so good, just have trouble figuring out what we should be eating. Am just used to putting very simple things on the table and the Sonoma is more complex. Also am trying to exercise on a regular basis. It will be really great to have someone to talk to that understands the ups and downs. |
