Back on track today. Kids are all healthy and back to school. I ended up getting the cold too but I am feeling almost over it today. Between the cold and TOM, and likely it being week 3 last week, weight loss has stalled a bit but hoping for a better week this week.
The sun is shining here today and it is beautiful out.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Ro22 11-08-2021 09:22 PM

Glad to hear, Tanga!
I’m sure this will be a better week!

LizRR 11-08-2021 11:40 PM

Good night ladies, it's been busy here and getting ready for holiday switch and my husband's surgery. I'm going to make my lemonade, similar to Tangas ACV drink, to stave off drinking while mom is here. I'll catch up tomorrow!

Tanga22 11-09-2021 09:43 AM

Good luck with everything Liz, hope your husband's surgery goes ok.
Scale moved a whole 1.5 lbs this AM so feeling happy about that! Come on week 4!!

WooHoo Tanga! That's a great whoosh! I am officially down another pound for my week 4 WI, I'll take it! I've been a little sneaky here and there last week trying to keep up with everything and I let diet stuff slip - handful of nuts, hunk of cheese there, etc. But, this is another "low" for my weight for the year to date! My mom comes in tomorrow and we are setting up a new bedroom for her basically.
Ro, I really found it interesting reading about your different experiences between Keto, OMAD, and IP. That is fascinating to me! I'm really going to try to put pedal to the medal until Thanksgiving. We are hosting my in-laws and I am planning a keto, not necessarily IP, day similar to you Ro. That might be a nice "break" (not from carbs though), then the same thing until Christmas...then New Years!!! This year is now really flying by.
I may soon be cleared to do some light walking. My knee surgery was 5 weeks ago, but I'm feeling better every day and don't do the grandma getting out off the couch move anymore! Now that I'm a little lighter that should help as well - "this close" to 20lb loss. I need some of Ro's energy!
Also, thinking about the IF compressed window - my one barrier to that is my morning coffee - I take my Vanilla RTD as my creamer (it's more latte than coffee) - maybe I'll try to close in the windows on the weekends vs. weekdays when I don't need to get any work done.

Ro22 11-10-2021 08:45 AM

Way to go ladies!!!

My Week 5 result…
Lost 4.1 lbs!!!
I’m in the next “decade” down!

And I was debating whether to weigh weekly 🤦‍♀️
I’ll keep the weekly weighing.

Tanga22 11-10-2021 10:33 AM

Hi Liz, Must feel good to be able to move around more easily now that you are healing from your surgery. For sure the 20 lbs loss will help with recovery! I still am/was an active runner before starting IP even at my heaviest weight, a good 6-8 km run was amazing for me. I'm not doing that now obviously but am excited to try again once I am lighter. I bet it will be easier/less pain afterwards.
For my "fasting" in the AM I still have a coffee with a splash of milk early in the morning, usually around 7-8am. I know technically this breaks a fast, but I don't find it triggers hunger at all and I then enjoy my coffee with chocolate drink - mocha latte :) - around 10am. So maybe I'm not technically fasting but I am counting it lol! I figure in the end if when I phase off I can keep it up it'll help.

Tanga22 11-10-2021 10:34 AM

Woo hoo way to go RO!!! Nice week 5 result!

Tanga22 11-12-2021 10:09 AM

Good morning all,
Had a day off work yesterday, it was Remembrance Day in Canada which is similar to your Veteran's Day. So it was a nice day off, kept busy with my hubby, shopping, spending some time together while the kids were at school.
Kept on plan so that was good. Took a long hike with my dog and enjoyed that.
Nothing much new today, feeling good, staying on plan, officially hit 15lbs down, will see what Monday brings when I will be at 4 weeks complete. Was hoping to hit 20lb lost but 15+ I am happy with!
Have a great day everyone.

Tanga22 11-15-2021 01:37 PM

Hey, hope you had a nice weekend.

Monday morning back at it, and feeling good as today marks 4 weeks complete of IP. Grand total weight loss after 4 weeks is 17lbs! Very happy with that. Getting very close to onederland which feels amazing.

Not much new with me, struggled a bit over the weekend with cravings. Not hunger at all, just cravings for the junk food/wine I was in the bad habit of consuming in the evenings. My kids (and hubby occasionally) still love to have treats at night so when they do it can be tough to be around! But staying tough and I am trying to mentally coach myself through those moments and remind myself that eating that way is terrible for my body and if I go back to that I will only find myself back in a position where I am not feeling good about myself.

Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great day!

trying2befit 11-15-2021 01:43 PM

This is awesome! ive felt so much better just getting out and moving.

Ro22 11-17-2021 05:48 PM

Congrats, Tanga! 1 month and close to onederland - good for you!

Trying2befit - That’s great - those are the best feelings- feeling better and more energy.

Ro22 11-17-2021 05:51 PM

I’m back from my quick vacation. Had a great, great time.
And, I lost 2.5 lbs while on vacation.
It was pretty easy to stay on plan as I’m committed to what I’m doing.
week 6 started today. I didn’t weigh myself at the beginning so I don’t know my total loss but I don’t really much care as I’m just focused on getting to my goal.

Tanga22 11-18-2021 06:49 AM

That's amazing Ro to have had such a great loss while on vacation. And fantastic that you had such a great time away! I'm still hanging in there and trudging away, scale isn't moving much this week but my clothes are definitely fitting looser so I know things are changing. Hopefully I'll see the whoosh that we all love so much to see soon! I was hungry yesterday and a bit today so far so I've brought some extra boiled eggs to work with me. I also have a massage right after work tonight so I will be late getting home and eating dinner so those eggs will help stave off the hunger. Don't want my stomach growling while I'm trying to enjoy a massage!
Have a great day everyone!

Ro22 11-24-2021 09:38 AM

Week 6 result in and lost another exact 2.5 lbs. in 3 weeks that’s exactly 9.1 lbs.
I’m glad today was weigh in day because I have prepped my keto Thanksgiving and if I didn’t have weigh in today I may have partook in it early lol.
It is a definitely a feast I’m planning for tomorrow but the key is just 1 keto day ( although I know I’ll be knocked out of ketosis) and then right back to Ideal Protein on Friday or possibly a fast day Friday and IP Saturday depending on how I feel. I’ll be very curious as to next Wed weigh in. I’m treating tomorrow as a referee day after 6 weeks of IP so thinking this could be a good disruption for my body as long as I stick to just one day.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Tanga22 11-24-2021 10:37 AM

Hi Ro way to go, that's amazing! What a great weight loss, you are doing amazing. Happy Thanksgiving to you! Enjoy the keto food you are preparing, you might be surprised and not knocked out of keto.

I am sure things are busy with such a big holiday coming up. I hope Liz is doing well with her husband's surgery and recovery.

I am so thrilled with how things are going for me, I have had an amazing week despite not changing anything and have lost 6lbs in the last week! I am securely in one-derland now and determined to never be out of it again! I have had people start noticing my weight loss at work and might need to go down another size pants soon too. Very happy.

I am now going to be away on training for work for a week mid-December so I have modified my plan as I will not be able to cook at all and will have to eat what is supplied at the course. I will be staying in a hotel. I plan to phase off a bit that week and stay somewhat keto/IP as much as I can through the holidays. Hope to at least not gain and have a few very strict IP/fasting days in there to counteract some of the splurges I may indulge in. Then re-assess after Boxing Day and see how much longer I want to do Phase 1 for.

Hope you all have a great holiday!

Ro22 11-26-2021 07:35 PM

That’s awesome, Tanga!!! Congratulations!!!

Here is a tip about traveling…you could do what I do and get protein powder and makes cakes or pudding or hot chocolate out of it to stay on plan. You could do 5 packs if you don’t have access to an IP compliant dinner and bring some vegetables along like celery or something, Just an idea if you wanted to keep going on IP that week.

Thanks for the positive words regarding my results. Yesterday was crazy because I made all this keto food but I wanted to just keep going on IP but guilted myself into eating keto because I made it. Today I am fasting and tomorrow I’ll be back to IP protocol and will be interested to see what the scale shows on Wed. The key was making it just one day and not consecutive days - I feel in control and didn’t let that open the door to another downward spiral. The biggest motivator is seeing pictures of myself and I don’t like what I’m seeing so I’m committed for the long haul.

Ro22 11-27-2021 03:49 PM

So, I successfully executed my plan. I had my one day, Thanksgiving and then I fasted yesterday and back on IP today.
I didn’t really enjoy the food on Thanksgiving- I wound up tossing out half my plate and didn’t bring home anything, not even to store in the freezer. I think that’s all attributable to my commitment to getting this weight off.

Ro22 12-01-2021 10:35 AM

I lost exactly 3 lbs!!!
I thought Thanksgiving could serve as a re-feed day after 6 weeks of IP and I was right. I’m sure fasting on Friday helped.
This means I already hit my goal for December so it seems I am a month ahead of plan as I now have 31 days to hit the goal I set for myself for January.
I have lost 12.1 pounds in the last 4 weeks.

I hope everyone is still going strong!

Tanga22 12-02-2021 10:28 AM

Way to go Ro! That is amazing that you are speeding through your goals so quickly. Feels so good I am sure. It sounds like your Thanksgiving plans went well and helped to give you a little boost.
I have had a couple of days so far in my (almost) 7 weeks of indulging and I have noticed a similar boost afterwards also. Not to encourage cheating at all!
I am still doing week, chugging along, excited to do my best over the next week and a half before I go away for the week for work. The more I think about it the more I think I will try to stay on plan while I am away. I am so happy with my progress I don't want to do anything to stall it. We'll see.
Take care!

That’s great, Tanga. I hope you stick with the idea of staying on plan as I hope you get to your goal as quickly as possible. Keep going!

Tanga22 12-07-2021 10:26 AM

Good morning everyone,
Hope all is well. I can't believe it is already December 7th. These past few weeks have gone by so quickly. I am still feeling great and on plan every day. I am looking forward to getting away next week and will stay on plan as much as possible. Still losing at a good pace that I am happy with. I feel great.
Not much to update but wishing everyone the best this week!

cactusblossom 12-07-2021 01:36 PM

Hi friends -

Hope everyone is doing good. I am getting back on track tomorrow, Wednesday. Been bouncing around trying different things, with no success. But I always end up here, so I need to stay here until the end! HOpe to post regularly! have a wonderful day! :)

Tanga22 12-08-2021 06:49 AM

Hi cactusblossom,
Welcome back! I think most of us are in the same boat, have tried different things but IP just gets results. Good luck starting back today. Hope it goes well. It's nice to be able to support each other in this forum!

Ro22 12-16-2021 08:13 AM

Tanga,
Hope your training and whichever plan while away are going well.

Cactus - I hear you and me too. I hope yesterday went well.

For me, yesterday was weigh-in day and I lost 3.5 lbs which was after just .4 pounds the week prior but after a 4 lb loss Thanksgiving week, I was expecting a small loss and then back to normal losses and all that played out over the past two weeks so I’m really happy with that.
It makes staying on plan even while making all the keto Christmas cookie baking easy. Haven’t tried any and nor do I intend to until Christmas. Then I’ll get right back on IP much like I did with Thanksgiving. I have a weigh-in before Christmas and I want to make that a good one.

Keep going strong all! Being so busy this time of year makes this plan even easier!

zailo39 12-19-2021 10:10 AM

Why is it so hard to be good during the Holidays? There is food everywhere!!!

Ro22 12-22-2021 10:05 AM

Lost 5.5 lbs this week!!!
My family is saying how small I look and how fast it is happening. That’s pretty exciting!
I made a ton of recipes at our cookie bake this year (all keto) and so happy I didn’t have even a crumb.
I wanted to get this weigh in before Christmas and have a keto Christmas Eve and Day and get right back to IP protocol on December 26. I may fast for a day or two like I did after Thanksgiving but I’ll go by how I feel.
I’m super stoked right now. Tons and tons of energy and sleeping great - very refreshing sleep!

Ro22 12-23-2021 08:37 PM

I was only 3 tenths of a pound from the next “decade” at my weekly weigh-in yesterday. I wanted to get to that decade as my Christmas present to myself and so I weighed myself today and found I lost 1.5 lbs in past 24 hours so blew by my goal!!!
Loving the results!!! Things are clicking on all cylinders for me - hoping my two day Christmas keto plan doesn’t disrupt things - hoping it helps like Thanksgiving 🙏

Tanga22 12-29-2021 11:07 AM

Hi everyone,
Wow Ro you are doing amazing! Blasting through this challenging season, way to surpass your goal! It is amazing when others make nice comments and you feel so great about reaching those goals.
I had a good week away for work and a nice Christmas. I let myself off-plan for Christmas only, stuck to keto while I was away for work, and am back 100% on plan today.
I have stayed away from the scale and don't plan on weighing in until Monday Jan 3rd.
I am happy with how the past few weeks have gone and am looking forward to the next few weeks and reaching my goal!
Maybe we will see some new faces post-holidays as it's often a time to make some healthy goals.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Ro22 01-02-2022 12:04 PM

That sounds like a pretty good plan, Tanga!
Hopefully, tomorrow will bring you a nice result to kickstart this year’s efforts!

I weighed yesterday and lost another 5.6 pounds since the prior Thursday.
Weight is just melting off me!
I knew once my hormones got more balanced the weight would take care of itself and it is!
My sister-in-law took a picture of me yesterday because she can’t believe the comparison in my size from yesterday to when we were in AZ in mid-November. It is striking.
I don’t know if I’m going to keep losing like this to my goal but it got me through the worst of it.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been this committed to my weight loss goal in the sense that my goal is similar to when I did IP the first time. I haven’t had a goal like that in 7 years.
