hi, I'm new here today. actually "started" IP last june but just couldn't stick with it. food addiction is real y'all! I want so bad to be successful. met my husband at 140 lbs. 10 years later I'm 245. he's not mean about it or anything, but I'm not the only one disappointed in myself either. also, life is harder at 100 lbs overweight! I have no energy, prone to depression, etc. I came on here hoping to find motivation and support in following this strict diet. I just want to feel good about myself for once. anyway, I really don't understand how this site works other then posting where I think is appropriate. Anyone out there in a similar situation? tips?

Hi, Kristen. Welcome - I'm also pretty new here, and four weeks into IP. Second weigh-in today. I have been married (second husband) for 15 years and I, too, am a lot heavier than when we met. My motivation is similar to yours - I want life to be easier! I am having success on IP and don't find it hard - I already know that *keeping* the weight off will be the real work, and I'm not even there yet!

I have found very little support online as most folks on weight loss sites do not condone "fad" or "crash" diets, and IP is viewed as one. (I can see why because you eliminate whole categories of foods, and you're consuming stuff from packets!) From what I can tell, this section of 3 Fat Chicks used to be quite active, but I have found more going on on Facebook. I hate to say it since I like this format better, but it seems to be true.

Good luck, and I'll check back if you will!

Hello! I recently wandered into a local IP Clinic and decided to give it a try. My plan was to try the diet for the summer and see where I ended up, so finding this page was a nice surprise. Hopefully I am not too late to join, and maybe the male perspective on the diet might be helpful. A little about myself:

Name: Kyle
Age: 33
Height: 5'11"

My first Weigh in was on 5/31 but I did not start the program until 6/7, hence the week missing in the beginning. Down over 10 pounds officially, and 17 unofficially. (Was 306 per my scale on 6/6 and have seen 289 on my scale w/o clothes)

Memorial Day to Labor Day
5/31: 304
6/14: 298.4
6/21: 293.2

7/26:
8/2:
8/9:

Wow, great job!

My weekly losses have been pretty low, but my first week's loss was predictably big, so ... 16.5 lbs in 6 weeks. I'm going to aim to drink more water and eat all my food and see if that helps.
