what is the consensus?

lowest I remember as an adult was 125 and that was ~20 years ago.

I am 5'2. I think 130 for the height is a good weight. When I was in my early 20s I was 120-125 when I see some of those pictures I look almost too thin. I set my 1st goal for 135 then I will try to loose to be 125-130.

I agree, right now I am 132.5 and I still have some tummy especially when i sit that I don't like. I am NOT going to change my goal of 130 and the rest will happen by working out and training. If I don't like what I see or how I feel in a few months, I can always come back to this diet.

According to this height weight ratio I go by, a person of 5"2 should aim for 125lbs, 108lbs at the VERY lowest and 144 at the highest so I think 130 would be perfect

That's a good question, I'm 4'9-10''ish and I'm aiming for 115lbs lol.

this might be stupid but am thinking every inch = 5 pounds (ofcourse everyone carries it differently) so you are 3" shorter = 15 pounds less. If I am going to be fine at 130 then you better be fine at 115

I am 5' 4" I am aiming for 135... Not even sure if it's realistic, it's been many many years since I saw anything below 150.

According to The Diet Channel website, a "rule of thumb is to allow 100 pounds for the first 5 feet of height (for women) and 105 pounds (for men). Then, add 4-6 pounds per inch of height above this base (women), and 5-7 pounds per inch (men)."

So at my 5' 4.5", I should weigh between 118 & 127... seems kinda low to me, I was thinking 135... guess I'll wait & see...

I think it depends on the woman and her bone structure. I think you also have to consider your bone frame and athleticism.. more muscle means more weight too!

I have a large bone frame based on elbow and wrist measurements. I am also a very curvy figure. As a teen/late teen and, before I gained weight in my mid 20's, I was always fairly athletic . I was 5'5 and weighed 116 (size 4) to 127 (size 6). I was still stocky enough still in my shape NO ONE thought I was thin and some thought "lose a few pounds maybe". I am trying to get back down to 135.

My sister is 5'5 and is at 128 pounds (size 6) and my other sister is 5'4-1/2" and 114 pounds (size 4). Neither is very muscular. They are both long, lean shapes without much curviness and they have very small bone structures (size 5 rings, size 7 and 8 shoes, wrists about 5.5"... tiny girls! I am a 7" wrist).

One of my best friends is 5'0" and weighs 128 pounds (size 4) works out alot and is amazingly beautiful!

With this diet, I think 130 would be a good weight. I'm weighing between 134 and 135 at 5'3" and am at goal. I am in size 6 for pants and 8 for dresses. When I weighed 120 many years ago, I wore 8's and 10's, only in reverse (butt was bigger than boobs). I actually still have a size 8 dress I wore back then, and it's loose on me. So it's not just that sizes have changed. I think it's because we keep our muscle on this diet and muscle weighs more than fat.

I agree that it really depends on your bone frame and your muscle tone. I think a good idea is to shoot for a healthy BMI. Do you have access to a digital scale that can give you that? My home scale reads BMI and it is as great to see that dropping from obese to overweight (and soon to healthy!) as it is to see the pounds come off.

Depends a lot on your bone structure. Are you small boned or large boned.?Weight ranges I have seen say a range for 5'2'' is 110-136.

Thanks everyone! I just want the little tummy on top to go away when I sit and I will make it go away!!! with working out etc etc and if all else fails...we'll go under the knife...maybe.

carla: i have no clue if I am big boned or not I have very small feet, 6.5, small hands, ring size is 5 (note to BF please), small wrists and neck and then we have my hips which are HUGE! child bearing ones I tell ya...

Bevs: I never looked at your height...I think I'll be happy with 130, if I get there that is.
