Made it thru the weekend LOL...Did pretty good yesterday as far as keeping busy and out of the kitchen. Did have some cooked onions off the pork roast last night, but onions are better than binge eating snacks LOL..so I will take it as a win.

My goal by months end is to get back to the weight in my stats....Sigh!:(

Heading off to the office this morning so I think I will make some muffins to bring with me for breakfast...I will do a late lunch when I get home around 1:30 because DH works till 7 tonight so later dinner than usual....

Have a good day everyone..

Congrats Alexandra!!!!!!

As for me...ugh. Glad to be back on the forum. One sign I'm out of control (besides being out of control) is I avoid 3FC. Well, I'm back, but done have the guts to weigh myself. I am focused on one meal at a time today. Time to get back on plan. More later.

Hope you all have a great day!

Avalon1957 09-14-2015 09:26 AM

Hysteria/Beth, Thank you for your supporting words!

SG and Rayze, I am rooting for you! Dieting is hard. Just got to keep plugging away at it every day.

Alexandra, congratulations. Sometimes small things - .25:) - can have a big effect on our lives.

I just did a little post on the Maintainers thread about a documentary I saw with some weight statistics - here's the link if you're interested

Hello All...thanks for your support. Good news/bad news scenario for me.
First, the bad news...I had an MRI and it shows 2 new herniations - one at L2-L3 (which I have never injured before) and one at L3-L4 (which I previously had surgery on).
Good news is the medication got it to settle down and that we are going to try and treat them conservatively rather than immediate surgery. I believe that part of the contributing factor is not working out for more than a year when you factor in my lifestyle (active, golf) and previous back injuries/surgeries. As a result, I started working out today. We'll see how the back responds. I can't express how good it felt to get in a workout after 13 months away from the gym!!!!

More good news...
Today starts the beginning of Month 2 on the reboot for me. I lost a total of 24.1 pounds in Month 1. Week 1 = -14.1, Week 2 = -4, Week 3 = -1 and Week 4 = -5. I am SO happy because Week 3 is when I was on the steroids and had trouble with Week 3 in my previous reboot attempts and so never made it to week 4 so I am so happy to know that week 3 results this year were simply an adjustment period after losing so much in weeks 1 and 2. I feel so good for this to be predictable, which to me is another indicator of good health.

I mentioned to you guys before that I feel so mentally strong and that is still the case. In fact, I think I am more so because of seeing the results of week 4 and the total for the month and getting the workout in and overcoming this back injury.

It feels so good to report good news!
Not to get too far ahead of myself but if I lose like I did the first time, that means that I need about 12 weeks to get to goal so I think I will be in maintenance by Christmas or early Jan. It could even be faster to get to goal! I am relieved that the alternatives are working as I was wondering if that was contributing to my week 3 poor results this year. But, I now realize that I just wasn't patient enough and being fearful that it was a sign I was going to slip back into the health issues I had earlier this year.

Now for all your good news...
Sue - glad to hear you got back on track! You will get there - I admire your determination in spite of a few hiccups :)

Avalon - Congrats on onederland!!!!

CenTXChk - I know this is a delayed response but how about a Combat bar (I recommend the peanut butter cup/crunch one) - my brother who is a carpet installer said this really made the difference for him to be able to work when he is dieting. Some GNC's/Vitamin Shoppe's carry them but your best bet is to order from Amazon, I think.

Amber - Congrats on the success on the mini-reboot!

Amanda - I hope your reboot is progressing well! Sorry if I missed it as I had about 10 days of catching up to do.

JJ - Glad to see your posts as well as the other maintainers still here posting in this thread. I use you guys as motivation for me to get to a successful maintenance program, once and for all!

Hi all, it's been awhile. Things have been busy. Today is day one of a reboot to get off 10 up lbs and maybe lose an extra 20 past my original goal, we'll see though as I will focus more on my bfp. I'm a bit hungry now at just about quitting time, but not too bad. I'll just make my dinner when I get home and have my snack in the evening, which is just how I like it.

I just hope the sudden reduction of carbs doesn't trigger a 3 day migraine like my first go round!

Coaching has been going ok I think. I'm a little shy to chaste people for cheating, or at least remind them of the benefits of no cheating.

I feel bad when I measure because I know that it's different from the old coach.

Congrats on reaching onderland Avalon, I know it seemed to take forever to get there at the end.

Wishing everyone the necessary willpower to stay strong and OP :) And for those with injuries, wishing you speedy recoveries. It's great to read of everyone still trucking along!

You are an awesome bunch :)

DeterminedDieter 09-14-2015 03:24 PM

Ro, great results on your reboot!! Sorry about your back, I hope it doesn't come to surgery

Avalon1957 09-15-2015 03:13 AM

JJTx, thank you so much!

Amber, yes so true that sometimes we get hung up on the tiniest of things!

Ro22, it's really great to get into the ones. On your back issues, any weight loss you can muster can only help, so keep it up. I hope you get some relief soon.

Sgrealtor1 09-15-2015 06:36 AM

Good Morning Everyone..

Day 2 in the books of my strict re boot...so far so good...spent a lot of time drinking fluids (water, mio orange/vanilla. Pelligrino..) LOL had to keep changing it up so I wasn't bored....Also pushing my lunch later helped with the afternoon hungries. Did good and the scale showed....Now to keep it up..Only 3Lbs to reflect my stats LOL....

Glad to see so many people back at it...thread was slow this summer...and I agree when I am off I avoid 3FC ... but facing the music and rebooting has put me in a great mood again. I can face down these last few pounds!

DeterminedDieter 09-15-2015 07:43 AM

WTG Sue! The daily accountability of posting here certainly does help. I made it through day 1 of my reboot OP, and feeling good about it. Just finished breakfast of day 2 and still feeling a bit hungry, but will keep drinking my water, and if necessary snack on some cukes before lunch.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Grateful4Health 09-15-2015 12:33 PM

Yay Sue and DD.
I have gotten sloppy with extra packets on my reboot due to heavy TOM and stressful week, but am making a decision to be OK with that this week as long as I don't gain, and then go strict next week, so I'll joining you on the strict train on Monday:). I can tell I'm still in ketosis so I'll keep trucking through the next few days on my slow sloppy train until then:)

CenTXChk 09-15-2015 03:55 PM

Hello Ladies!

Avalon – WTG on Onderland!! You are so amazing! I am so proud of you for hitting such a milestone!! :woohoo: :carrot::D

Sue, G4H and others struggling with extra packets and food – We all have been there! You can do this. Some days of our lives (or even hours) are harder than others to stay 100% OP. We all have been there but I have faith you can get back on the wagon!

Ro – Sorry again about your back. I hope the exercising helps. Surgery would be no fun! And thanks for snack suggestion. I am going to look it up. Afternoons are still a struggle but at least now I know what is….no longer beating myself up for “being weak” but rather focusing on being prepared.

So positive and not so positive moments recently…

Positive, I had a decent food weekend and finally started the week out under my scream weight….that may be a first in some time! Been eating more of a modified P3 yesterday and today. Hoping to tame the big weight swings while staying full.

Now the not so positive….it’s really not that bad but the perfectionist in me needs to stop beating myself up. Went to the gym last night and got weighed on their bio-scale. Very similar to my IP clinic’s scale. Well, after all summer of working out with a trainer my weight was down a couple pounds but my BF% and fat mass numbers were up. :?: This after a tough work out and then to see my numbers haven’t improved since I started going to him was VERY disheartening. I know I am leaner and more toned. I feel and look good. But, in the moment, those darn numbers had me near tears. He started asking me about what I’ve been eating and I kinda got mad. I mean, know I am eating a better diet than the majority of his clients….probably even him!

Just last week my coach was saying how perfect my numbers were…irritated at myself for letting a stupid scale make me feel like a failure. :( Grrr.

This Fri is my plastic surgeon appnt. MY DH can’t come with me so my BF is coming to the DR with me for moral support. Will post an update with what I learn!

Grateful4Health 09-15-2015 04:41 PM

CenTX if you've never gotten on that scale before I really wouldn't put too much emphasis on it. Maybe next time - after you have a base point. Who knows when they have last calibrated it or how it compares to the clinic.
What's important is how you feel, and if your clinic has you in a healthy range, then that's the end of the story.

CenTXChk 09-15-2015 06:25 PM

Thanks Amber! It is actually the third time I got on this scale but the numbers seem to get worse every time I step on it. I told my trainer that I wouldn't be getting on it again. It messes with my mind.

Heck, I can just bring my slip in from my IP WI. It has the same info on it and I trust that data a whole lot more!
