Beck Diet Solution Daily Tip
Wednesday Sabotage

Sabotaging Thought: I should be able to eat whatever I want when I'm on vacation.

Response: If my goal is to gain lots of weight while on vacation, then that's absolutely what I can do. If, however, my goal is to lose weight, or at least maintain my weight, then vacations can be a break from work and from daily life, but not from healthy eating.

Sorry to ask this again. I can't remember how many eggs we can eat to replace our 8 oz. of protein. Thank you

lisa32989: Well said! That was my attitude and has definitely contributed to where I ended up. My long term maintenance goal would be to relax the rules a wee bit on vacation, but not too much.
jemma51: My IP sheet says 3 whole eggs are equivalent to 1 protein serving.

Hi Jemma!

Don't feel bad for asking. It is how we learn!

In case you need the P1 sheet, here is the link to their location:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/5040423-post66.html

Your quick answer from the most recent protocol sheet is this: 6 eggs (2-4 whole, remainder must be egg whites). So, basically, you have some lattitude

I have a question about exercise: How do you determine how much exercise justifies that extra packet? I walk almost every day, and sometimes it adds up to 3-4 miles. It's not strenuous walking; my heart rate doesn't go up much. But it does burn quite a few calories (about 300+). My weight loss averaged 3 pounds/week, until my daily mileage got over 2 miles, then my weight loss average dropped down to 2 pounds/week.

FTR, I'm doing the IP protocol myself, no clinic, with alternative packets. I've been OP for 7 1/2 weeks.

Try adding another low cal packet (I choose the 80 cal ones) and see if your WL picks back up. Sometimes it is just an experiment and sometimes slowdowns are inevitable.

I am here again...
Lisa, your Wednesday diet tip is so fitting for me today. In the last six months I have been on quite a few holidays. I always seem to go on a diet holiday too. I have done a lot of damage doing this and not really lost weight. I keep gaining and losing. I am here now to get this done. I look forward to following everyone's journey.

Beck Diet Solution Daily Tip
Think Thin Thursday

How long do your cravings usually last? It can be helpful to time them and see that they only usually last 3 minutes, or 5 minutes, or 10 minutes. Then, when you have a craving, remind yourself, “I’m only x minutes away from success!”

Lisa I really like the new name of the Daily Chat. I was just thinking the other day maybe we could name it something where it is more clear "this is the place to be/get your questions answered, etc." so to speak

Default IP newbie of 1 week - and a vegetarian. Advice needed.

Hi everyone,

I started IP last Thursday, and am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I'm getting really sick of eggs, so I need some ideas/recipes for my additional 8 oz of protein. Can anyone direct me to the right place?

Thanks!!

Hi mlb7290
I'm not a vegetarian so I don't have any personal experience.
The plan is designed for omnivores but many people adjust the program.
Here is a link to the search result for all of the threads from vegetarian IPers.

Hope it helps!

Morning all!

Alternative products are currently 30% off at Lindora. I recommend the berry crème smoothie, chocolate mint shake/pudding and the cheesecake (all unrestricted!)
