Update: Sunday the scale said 169 (!) but Monday it was back to 170. No movement since then. :(

Hi Flvamp- please keep us updated if the severe carb restriction works out for you or if you are trying anything else.

I have been plateaued for a loooong time and am trying to go to P3 to see if it helps. I tried doing a CKD thing for a couple weeks but now have 5 up lbs that wont go away.

Thanks!

First printing (from the front of my reprint book) of 'Mincir les cles de l'equilibre (The Keys to Losing Weight)' was in 2004. Not sure what my reprint date is though... I received it in Nov 2013, along with his DVD which shows a date of 2012.

Update: After extensive research on stall busting and low carb living, I decided last Thursday to go off IP packets for 3 days and add a lot of fat to my diet. I completely eliminated carbs. No veggies at all, and no coffee. (Did you know coffee has up to 3g of carb per mug depending on how strong you brew it?!) I added 1 oz of hard cheese at breakfast along with 2 eggs fried in pasture butter (hey, if I'm doing fat, I'm gonna get some CLA as well) and 1 slice uncured pork bacon (no sugar that way, and less nitrates). On the bacon, I was advised to bake it to cooked floppy, not crisp stage so as to not oxidize the fats.
I added 2 snacks of 1 oz hard cheese and 1 HB egg per day. I ate fattier ground beef patties w/ 1 oz cheese slice, as well as chicken thighs with skin on. 3 meals per day, meat and 1 oz cheese, 2 snacks of 1 oz cheese + 1 HB egg.
I am delighted to report I have busted the stall and have lost close to .75 pound each of my last 3 morning weighs! :flow1:
Tomorrow morning I will return to IP protocol, without brownies and the lowest carb veggies I can find. I will report end of week how that goes.
:yay:

By the way, here are links to the most helpful info I found, hope these are ok.
http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.c...s-plateau.html
http://www.biblelife.org/plateau.htm (Not religious info!)
"Too much protein can prevent weight loss and even cause weight gain on the low-carb diet in those people with severe metabolic resistance. The body can convert 58% of the protein in meat to glucose. A higher-fat, lower-protein, low-carb diet can achieve an amazing drop in weight when the normal low-carb diet has failed." Under "Emergency Plateau Breaking Program" info, which I modified to include no carb at all.

This is great to hear. When I had a stall my doctor had me add a little more fat and it worked. The same thing happened to someone else they were working with. They said for some people that happens. Great work on being so diligent, that’s amazing!

my coach gave me the IP cleanse- detox to kick start my loss. How are your BMs?

HappyCampr73 07-03-2015 02:01 PM

The scale did not move for me for two weeks and my coach asked me to add another IP packet so I started taking 3 Unrestricted and 1 restricted increased my water intake and added 30 mins of walk and the scale started to move again.

Tried a couple brownies this week and oh no, the scale went up. So I'm going to drop those suckers for now. Back to adding more fat for a couple days to see where I am.
Also bought a bioimpedance scale, results are consistent with the trends from when I was clinic weighing. I'm happy with that as well!
