You can substitute a packet with either 2 eggs, or 1 egg and 3 egg whites. On the weekends, I like to have scrambled eggs with green peppers or over-easy eggs over chayote hash browns for lunch. Yummo!
Thanks! I just need to have something to hold me over till my products get here. I have some packets left over but i figure if I have eggs for breakfast, then I can stretch the ones I have. Plus I love eggs! LOL

I feel the same way about a healthier lifestyle. I felt so good when I was on IP and after I lost the weight. I want to feel good again!

Beck Diet Solution Daily Tip: Think Thin Thursday

The more you act/make decisions like a fit, healthy person, the more you will BECOME that person. If you fake it until you make it, you’ll get there!

Not thrilled but at least I know what I need to do.

I have one question...I remember reading about using eggs as a substitute for a packet but I don't remember how many...Can anyone remind me?

Glad to see this site is still so active. I'll be lurking.
Welcome back. You're right. You know what to do to get it off.

I do eggs this way:
1 egg + 3 whites for unrestricted
2 whole eggs for restricted (more fat in the yolks)
Real eggs taste so much better than those packet eggs.

And you can also get shakes at stores to tike you over if you're waiting for a delivery.

Thanks Lisa! I'll be stopping on my way home today to get some RTD's! I kinda jumped in with both feet as of 6:00 this morning...I can't stand myself right now! I'm looking forward to watching this fat melt away!

For RTD's, a few of us use the Atkins products- I really like the Royal Chocolate RTD (Wal Mart) - they also carry quite a few Walden Farm products - at least the ones in Northern VA do
Thank you! Mostly looking for things that I can have as backup. I used to use muscle milk light, but they discontinued it. I picked up some muscle milk 100 ($3.50/ea!!! ) just to keep in my desk at work for hunger emergencies, or if I forget to bring lunch, etc.

I'm here with you! Gained it all back. My problem was I didn't phase off and went right back to bad habits. I treated IP like a quick fix. Quick it is, a quixk fix, it is not! I think I will give myself a time limit rather than a lbs limit, for example, I'm considering being in "maintenance" by my hubby's bday in september, regardless of weight I reach. Then, I will maintain it for a year with the intent on either losing the rest through diet and exercise, or going back on phase 1 next summer. Still have not decided, though! The thing I know for sure is that my attitude needs to change if I want my body to change, and that is a far more difficult task!

Wow! I just got flamed badly for posting this encouraging story yesterday of this lady who is 90 and her fitness & weight loss journey. I find her inspiring! Apparently the discouraged 80 yr old poster was totally insulted that I posted this in the 50+ thread. Is it really me or do they have a 'problem?'
I try to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" (Monty Python lyrics from 'Life of Brian') - seems others do not...

On another note: I will make you jealous with my 'rhubarb porn' from my garden lol. That's my red size 9 gumboot in the photo and a 4 foot step ladder for size comparison.

That's funny I just read that article yesterday also at refusetoregain and really liked it. Don't know what would be negative about it.

always like your pictures, even though the rhubarb is probably nsfw lol.

Because I'm super nosy, of course I took a look at the post you mention.

First of all... that picture in your profile. Absolutely stunning!!

Secondly... It seems like the woman wanted everyone to say "you know, maybe this is the weight you should be happy with at 80". Even in the title, she was asking people to tell her she shouldn't try to lose weight anymore. Instead, you were encouraging and wanted to show her that she CAN do it.

I know a guy that is morbidly obese. Like, 600-700 pounds. He whines and moans all over Facebook how he wishes he weren't overweight and could get a girlfriend and could just go do whatever he felt like.

A lot of enablers respond to his posts telling him to hang in there and he's a great person and not to beat himself up. Several of us took a different stance. We gave him tips on how to lose weight, explained how to eat healthy, tried to motivate him to talk to his doctor about how to exercise safely. To every single thing we said, he responded with excuse after excuse after excuse.

"I don't have the money to eat healthy"
We tell him how to save money on healthy food
"It's still more expensive than what I normally eat"
We compare the price to a fast food meal
"I can't cook"
We tell him about vegetables that are microwavable, like squash and broccoli
"I don't like squash or broccoli"
At this point, we generally give up until our next conversation.

My point is, people say they wish they could be better when they don't actually intend to be better. They bemoan their lot in life so people will give them a sympathetic pat on the back to make them feel like they don't have to try harder. They just want an excuse to go on the way they have been. They don't want encouragers, they want enablers. And if an encourager tries to help them be better, they find excuses.

The woman you responded to used her limitations as an excuse. It's one thing to say "Thanks encourager, that's inspiring! But unfortunately I have limitations and have to find another way to be an inspiration myself. Any suggestions?." and quite another to be so hostile and say "Why would you post that, terrible person? Don't you understand how depressing it is that other people are doing things like that when I can't? Go in a corner and feel bad about encouraging me."

You can't save people from themselves, unfortunately.

You are wonderfully encouraging, and we IPeeps value that and are grateful to have you rooting for and inspiring us.

Keep on truckin'.

You are doing so great, and it's actually a very comforting phase ... right before the potential freefall of maintenance! In fact, I find myself eating P3-ish many days of the week, even now. It's just easy.
Thanks Mimi-

You are right- maintenance feels like free falling. The yacht thing, by the way, was an unplanned surprise by my dad. He is the captain and made it happen so we could meet him in the Bahamas. It was cool. Even cooler that I was not overwhelmed by bad food and was prepared. Really thanks to this group of awesome posters!!!

Good Morning!

I feel good today, I finally switched clinics, I felt that I was not getting any guidance from the other clinic; I was mainly pushed to purchase products with no guidance of how to work the program. Even though I have lost 15lbs, I feel like if it was not for this community I would not have continued. Since this is the first time I have been on IP, I feel that I need more guidance in the beginning in order to be successful. So, I am looking forward to working with this clinic and having a diet coach that will educate me on the program properly.

I have a traveling challenge coming up in 10 days, but I plan on taking my products with me. I am taking my great niece to Italy and Greece, and I am excited. My coach will help me plan on what to take on this 10 day trip; I am determined to come back with a lost not a gain.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

RAS

Liana -- I've never seen a not-well-meaning post from you. Loved the article and the advice re being "visible." Always appreciate your upbeat, optimistic attitude and desire to make things better for others. Don't let the flaming get to you, and keep on truckin' yourself
