Am I the only one obsessively trying on clothes from the closet?

I have a size 18 dress I bought last year that is super cute but the tags are still on it as I thought I'd diet and get into it last summer. Naturally, that didn't happen.

But since I started IP, I've been trying that sucker on about every four days to see if it will fit. I'm dreaming that I'll be able to fit in it by next Wednesday night, so I can take it on my cruise with me.

Anyone else do this? Or am I just crazy? :dizzy:

I do the same exact thing

You are not alone :).

You are absolutely not alone - I recently went through my closet and am now wearing a lot of clothes I never dreamed would fit again. I also have a pair of size 12 jeans I tried to slip into over the weekend - not yet...will try again July 4th weekend :D

I have worked my way thorugh my 'closet of many sizes' which included 2X and 18/20's down to 12WP (Women's Plus Petite) to regular 14 {etites.... there are a number of old faves that are 14P that I have been washing in hot water and putting in the dryer, trying to salvage them.... sadly, they are really too roomy at this point... but that's a problem I can deal with!

I am carrying more excess through the midriff area than on my hips and thighs.... and as such, I cannot fit into my wedding dress. I weighed 165 when I got married, and per my home scale I am at 158 now... but still too plump in the midriff area to zip up the dress.

I had hoped to put it on for my DH for our 30th anniversary on July 3rd.... not sure I am going to achieve, that, but we'll see. ;)

All. The. Time. Totally normal on this diet. In fact, I look at it like motivation. Any other time in my life I would have considered it beating myself up.

Enjoy!

All the time here as well. Although I didn't start doing it until I was putting on my regular work clothes and realized I don't own a pair of pants that aren't too big anymore!

I am so glad it's not just me! I would have never done this on any other diet, but I KNOW this one is working and it just has me so excited for the future.

I'm obsessed with the CLOTHES and the Scale!!! I had a pair of pants someone had given me like two years ago and I could barely get my legs in there, and now they are too baggy!! I'm loving it!

Macy08035 06-08-2015 08:23 PM

Yep! I do it too! Can't always count on that dang scale, and I think clothes are the truer measure...plus so much fun when they fit! Take the dress with you and get into it while away if need be!

My official IP goal is a size goal not a weight goal so I totally do it. It's fun to see the changes in how the clothes fit me. I also find that I have more weight in my belly than the last time I was this size, so I am going to have to lose a lot more than before to get into my goal size, but that's OK.

I am guilty of this, too. I take my "too big" clothes to a local consignment shop and buy smaller sizes that i am not quite into yet but will be before too long! It feels amazing to finally be able to get into some of those clothes now! It is almost unreal the amount of space I now have in my closet. Those size 24s and 5x tops that I got rid of sure took up a lot of space! The "new" 16/18s and XL tops (and a few "not quite there yet" things) have plenty of room to hang without being crammed!

Even hubbie has a few of his old favs that can now fit him. He's lost almost 30 pounds just by following my example of healthier eating.

Closet shopping.

Oh, yes. :)

I didn't have smaller clothes in my closet anymore. What I hadn't given away to Goodwill, I'd passed down to my daughter. I've had to raid her closet twice now to reclaim some of the clothes. :) The first time, a lot were still too small. The second time, almost everything fit, and I don't have far to go to reclaim the few that didn't. Such a good feeling.

Love reading all your stories about going shopping in your own closets - so fun! Keep up the great work, ladies!
