Liana I'm taking a look at the P1 Alternative sheet and I like that it incorporates fruit, bread and dairy. I think I am going to give that a try as I have food already in the fridge that I don't want to go to waste. I can see from your menus that you are making adaptations and it's working for you. I have quite a few packets left over so I am going to use those and real foods. I've decided to do this for a while. The hydrostatic test showed that I needed to lose another 7 lbs to get my BMI to the right place so I'm going to aim for that. Calories were a bit high today. I'll have to work on that.

Unfortunately Mimi47, Irene only makes her bread locally and sells through the local Nutters Health & Bulk Foods store. It is supremely yummy, along with her Seed Bread with pumpkin, sunflower, and flax seeds in it. No GF bread is low carb or even moderate carb though, lol. It definitely needs to be taken into account when meal planning.

Alternative works best for me Andrea. I needed it to get out of a stall and feel healthier when I first lost the weight.

Grateful, the supper menu looooked gooood. If you use 1% or dry cottage cheese instead you don't have to even worry about the fat ratio there either (not sure what it is with 4%). Both Andrea & I have opposing ends of the spectrum for dairy products depending on what's needed for macros at a specific meal. It can be really handy to have 10 or 11% plain yogourt and 0% plain yogourt for instance.

Started using the alternative menu today, but not until lunch. So I got in a fruit at lunch and a carby veg at dinner. If I see that losses stop, I'll go back to plain P2, but I like this a lot more as I am not so hungry.

Grateful: Liana has it down on the yogurts. I got that from her and it works great. When you want a creamy thing but no fat, 0% yogurt works great. Like if you are trying to make a chili type dish but want the creaminess of a sour cream topping but can't use sour cream because it's not a fat meal, 0% yogurt to the rescue!


Good grief! I just realized that I'm doing this wrong. For P1 Alternative I should be using a packet at lunch instead of 8 oz of natural protein. So I guess what I'm doing is a P2 Alternative. No harm done as I'm down another .6 this morning. I'll do better. My new mantra.

Boo on the cheese and onion bread. Will be on the hunt for an alternative, GF or not. And thanks to all for the yogurt tips -- so used to keeping just nonfat on hand, but will pick up higher fat % one now, too.

Finally, a proper 6.5 hours straight of quality sleep!!! I feel so much better today. Got my 1 hr brisk walk in - walked to the library and brought a book home too. It's a quick read - only 7 days allowed - (best sellers) The Jaguar's Children by John Vaillent.

Today's food (I am down another .6 today - only 1.2 to go, so I am upping things slightly in the carbs & fats dept to ease out of P2 and back to maintenance.) April 14/2015 Carbs are a bit higher at 75 net today...will watch it for tomorrow.

I likely won't post daily but would like to do once a week or so to stay on track and also maybe give and get some ideas.... I know this page has helped me a lot in that regard.....

Yes, surely they serve cheese in heaven lol.
I found a new kind I love that is a goat/cow milk cream cheese blend called Snofrisk from Norway. 35 calories worth has so much taste that it makes a whole salad tasty. Of course I went back to the ritzy grocery store I found it at and discovered it’s a specialty item they only stock sporadically. So I branched out to other flavorful goat cheeses with similar macros and will give them a shot in next week’s salads.

I am lucky my body seems to do fairly well with cheese. Cheese and most Healthy fats seem generally OK and often really great for my body - now sugars are tricky and a whole other story - ….
