A little loss has gotten me under 260! So excited! I'm 9 pounds away from my wedding weight and 24 pounds away from the weight I was when I met DH. :-)

Food is going really well today, EAS strawberry shake for breakfast and I'm cooking radish soup right now for lunch. I find soup to be the easiest way for me to get my veg in for the day. I'll probably still be eating soup in July when it's 90 degrees out!

Congratulations on the loss! I need to search some soup recipes. I love soup and I'm struggling with the vegetables (even though I used to enjoy them).

EAS AdvantEDGE is the more popular shake.

I bought a very inexpensive mandolin and find that's easier to cut them into "fry" like size. Here's a youtube video though of a lady making them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVl7PVUH5uk (obviously it's not an IP video since she discusses using dips with them, but thought it was easier for you to watch how she cuts them than me try to explain it!)

As for over indulging when you're tired, if you can, once a week wash and chop up and portion out all your veggies. I know I always fail when I get hungry and am too lazy to prepare something healthy, so if it's easy to grab and go, you should have no excuses! From my understanding cucumbers are an unlimited veggie, so that's a perfect one to have ready to go if you get hungry and you've already hit your regular 4 cups of veggies.

I have also started looking for the Rutabagas so I can make a puree and put it in my shake. I seen that on youtube also but it was an IP video. I still have not been able to find the Rutabagas, but I may go to the farmers market. Be careful with the mandolin, I ended up in ER early this morning because I sliced my finger yesterday trying to slice cucumbers and it would not stop bleeding. Didn't need stitches, but it hurts. I will be more careful the next time. :(

So I started March 15, decided to read this since than for support and than thought how selfish to read but not offer support! I had my first way in on my 10th day due to work, was done 7lbs, so that was GREAT! I found my second week the hardest, with the headaches but slugged along!

Hi! Today is day 6 and I woke up headache free! Thank goodness! I feel so much better. I notices yesterday that I was not hungry at all - same thing today. I have to make it a point to eat lunch or I could go until dinner without anything. Can't waint until Monday to weigh in. Have a great day!

It gets easier!

Hi all day 5 here. Still have a headache ugh! Also I'm not sleeping well which is not helping my overall mood. Fun times! Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey I'm on day 8 and it does get better. The headaches are gone and I'm sleeping through the night. I was quite restless the first half and could not sleep but was very tired at the same time and Sooo hungry. By the 7th day it was all gone including the hunger and I'm down 8 lbs after first weigh in.

Hang in there. It's totally worth it.

You can buy Ketostix at any pharmacy. When you pee on the stick, the darker the color, the ketones you are producing. Hope this helps :smug:

Hi shazmataz
I love all the puddings and drinks. The cheese and broccoli soup was really good as well as the chicken stew type. Those two soups are also great to add your 2 c veg in after its cooked.

Hey!!! I did this program about 4 years ago and I surpassed my goal weight and kept it for most of that time but I felt like since I worked so hard that I was exempt from any further weight gain. My bad. Won't make that mistake again. A year full of turmoil and oops I gained about 25 lbs. not going to buy new clothes so here I am. Been on about 2 weeks about 1 week serious. Gotta get this done. Not using a coach but am using the product. When I remember how to fix my tracker I will. Happy Saturday !!

Hi All,
Not sure what happened thought I posted, but not here. Thank you so much Knm for the video on cutting up the rutabaga, it really helped. Have to change up my vegetables. And will make sure to have vegetables cut up ahead of time, have not been doing this but have to make time for myself, have been working a lot.

Lettuce, thanks for the ideas of tea and then making it that you have to stop doing what you are doing to eat the packet if extra. I have not been doing that and then just really hungry even after eating the extra packet, etc.

Working today, but did plan a head. Have all food ready. Hope everyone has a great day. Keep IP positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this is the community chat but I figured I'd update here as well.
This morning I fell down our basement steps and it looks like I've broken my tailbone. The doctor is getting a second opinion on my radiographs, but he's fairly confident it's fractured.
I'll be going off plan while I heal for the next 6-8 weeks. I w am planning on sticking to a paleo/primal diet to stay in Ketosis and once I'm healed I'll be back!

Good luck to everyone! You've been doing wonderfully and I know you'll be kicking serious butt while I'm gone. See ya'll in May/June!

March 2015 Starters and Rebooters

Good afternoon!

Tomorrow marks the end of my third week on Ideal Protein. The first two weeks went really well. The third week has been extremely challenging!! Since this is my second round of IP, I knew the weight loss would slow down; however, it has pretty much come to a screeching halt. I've been 100% on plan, drinking plenty of water, taking my vitamin supplements and eating all of my vegetables.

Yesterday, we attended my niece's baby shower. I packed my own food knowing that there would be very little that I could eat at the shower. I managed to avoid all of the cupcakes, cheese and other delicious treats. It was more difficult than I thought it would be, but I did it.

I have a weigh-in appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping that I will see inches lost this week since I'm not seeing the weight loss.

Have a great week, everyone!!

Yikes! That's awful, but thank goodness you're going to heal! Good luck and take care of yourself- and see you in a few months! :)

Day 8 starting of a new week. I already feel better and less hungry this morning. Looking forward to the next weight in already! Also, I found Chef Verati facebook page where he has tons of videos of recipes. Next week I am going to buy the rotini to make the asian salad. I had the veggie chili yesterday and I loved it. It has textured soy protein that I used to eat when I was little (mom was vegetarian) and reminded me of its existence! Once I start phasing out of the program I am going to start eating it more often as a meat alternative a few days a week. Happy week for you ladies, we can do it!

Today is HARD! It is my 8th day. I lost the first 3 days and not the last half of week 1. I think I'd be better encouraged if I lost a smaller amount each day instead of a bulk in the beginning of the week. I've lost water weight before and could never get any more weight off beyond that. I keep telling myself that is NOT what's happening this time and one day in week 2 I'm gonna see another drop. I know it isn't possible, but I really wish today could be a cheat day. My emotions could use it.
