Good morning everyone! Starting my reboot to lose 20 to 30ish pounds. I'm trying alternatives for now quest powder, chips and bars. I hope I can stay focused and do this again. Lisa I'm going to try those cookies with the quest powder tonight they sound delish.

frawniemae 02-23-2015 08:53 AM

Good luck with your reboot!

This week looks to be rainy and cold here in my neck of the woods so I went to the grocery store yesterday and spent about $60 on nothing but green stuff! Well, I did have some gorgeous red bell peppers in there...but fridge is well stocked and today I'll be making roasted red pepper sauce, ricing 2 heads of cauliflower, cooking fresh green beans (with NO bacon or bacon grease, much to the despair of my dear hubs), try my hand at making cauli-tortillas and potato puree wraps. And, if I still feel like cooking after all that I'll make some more wildberry muffins for evening snacks. Oh, I'll be making cabbage rolls for dinner tonight, too! I love cooking! Prior to IP it was such a chore but we had gotten in a rut with what we ate that it wasn't "fun" for me any more. I'm sure someday down the line it might get boring again but right now I am enjoying trying new foods and recipes and finding new ways to prepare old favorites to be IP compliant.

Never thought a "diet" would fun!

Have a great OP day!

losetowin....i don't see why not...if you try it let us know :)

Mmm that all sounds delicious frawniemai, especially the wild berry muffins. Are they hard to make?

Hzldream 02-23-2015 09:26 AM

hope everyone has a great day! I've been trucking along and staying OP. I went to my favorite town yesterday and a friend offered to buy me something to eat, but I didn't stray! it's becoming easier and easier to say "no thank you" to food lol...26 lbs in 6 weeks is not so bad :)

Beck Diet Solution Daily Tip

Monday Motivation

A dieter recently told us, “I put on a pair of pants that I haven’t fit into for at least ten years – and they zipped right up! It was the best feeling ever!” No matter how hard dieting may feel at any given time, moments like these unquestionably make it worth it. What are some of your “worth it” moments?

Good morning to all. I feel some days I have up and downs with emotions and trying to stay OP. I feel my scale looks awesome on fridays and then sometimes on sundays I feel a little bloated and then the scale doesn't look good. I haven't gained anything when I weigh in on Monday's but feel it is not coming off as quickly as I would like. I have only lost 12 pounds since 1-14-2015(my start week), so I am starting my 6th week. Thanks Lisa for the monday motivation- this forum helps me so much.

Wow! Great inspiration. Just having people notice my weight loss on a regular basis makes it worth it. Prior to starting IP, people asked me if I was pregnant again almost daily. My stomach must have been pretty big for people to confidently ask me that. Now people say, "Wow, you're losing weight!"

LegalEagle14 02-23-2015 11:04 AM

Morning all! Last night was little hard for me, as we had dinner at a friend's place. I went a little off plan, but stayed on as much as possible! I've been strictly on plan for the rest of the week, so I don't think it will hurt me much, and I'm back 100% today! I weigh in tomorrow, so I suppose I'll see if it set me back too far. According to my scale this morning, I should see a loss, but we'll see what happens. I tried the chayote "apple" slices yesterday, SO good!! They took more time to make than I had planned, so I won't make them too often, but they are delicious and I would recommend them.

I also tried the potato puree flat bread yesterday, and while the taste was good, there was something about the texture that I didn't love. Too spongy maybe? I think I just miss real bread :( I can live without it for a while though!

Lisa, thank you for the Monday motivation, definitely needed on a Monday morning! My motivation is pretty much the same, I'm already wearing clothes comfortably that were too tight, and uncomfortable a month ago.

kimo88 02-23-2015 11:38 AM

Thanks for the motivation Lisa! My worth it moment was when I put on the designer jeans I bought in size 32 (probably 3 years ago now, I bought them as motivation) and they fit, not zipped up with a muffin top, but actually fit! I now know that when I go on shopping trips with my friends that I will be able to fit into the clothes that are in the stores that they buy from.

Another small gain this week at WI. :( Not a huge surprise after my indulgence last week. But I've gained the last 2wks and haven't lost any inches in 4. Focusing on getting back OP, getting all my water in and seeing a good loss next week.

I did have a great NSV shopping this weekend in stores I haven't been in 20yrs. I almost told the person ringing me up about how I never shopped in their store before because I couldn't. Certainly gives me motivation to stay 100%.

I found Chayote and will try and cook that up this week. Thanks for the idea!!

Super easy: I'm sure the recipe is somewhere in this forum, but for the life of me I can't find it so I'll share it here:

1 packet crispy cereal, finely crushed
1 packet wildberry drink mix
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 T egg liquid whites (or one egg, but be sure to count it as part of your daily protein, 2oz)
1/4 c water, may need more if too thick
1/8 tsp stevia
1/8 tsp cinnamon

Lightly whisk together the eggwhites and 1/4 c water. With a spatula mix in the packets, stevia and cinnamon. Mix until blended but don't overmix. Add a little water to thin so it is muffin batter consistency. Spoon into prepared muffin pan. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Serving size is 1/2 of however many muffins you end up with. (I use a mini loaf pan and bake at 350 for 15 minutes then check with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, it's done. If not, bake an additional 5 minutes then recheck. Repeat as necessary. After baking, and when it has cooled completely, slice into 8 slices - 4 of which equals one IP serving.)

Thanks for this! My latest worth it moment was when I wore a sweater I had not been able to fit into for about 4 years and it HUNG instead of clung!! Got quite a few compliments at church, too. :D
