I have been following 2FC for a while now (w/o registering) as I was using FinnSteven's recipes. Chef Verati also have a good website with recipes: www.lowfatlowcarb.com; he was on the diet and lost 100+ lb. I found that if I eat my natural proteins during my lunch time during the week, I'm not hungry during the afternoon. My new coach told me to cut my bars in tiny pieces and eat them during the day so what I do is cut 3 diff bars at 30 pieces (really thin), eat 10 in the morning/afternoon/evening; works great and I get a variety. Being w/a clinic gets you to rec IP videos every morning and the moderator says that we are not supposed to have exercise to the point of being out of breath in P1. I read a lot of you "help out" with exercises like running and the gym but it's really not recommended in P1.

I experimented by working out two weeks in a row on IP, light cardio on the cross trainer and half hour heavy weights (3 times per week), my weight loss came to a complete stop. Only when I stopped working out did I lose again. So I just walk now. But once I get to goal I'm getting a personal trainer and really going to concentrate on getting toned and building some muscle. I strongly believe it's one of the keys to keeping this weight off.
I know some have worked out throughout IP and have lost successfully though, so everyone is different. |

Ketogenic diets are a well known athletic performance eating strategy so it isn't that something bad will happen, it's just that people need to realize it is not specifically for losing weight faster, it's for fitness and mental health. I hope that helps clear things up... if anyone chooses not to exercise at this point in their program it's no big deal, but if one decides to do heavier exercise then they need to be very observant of how their body reacts to their workouts and adjust accordingly. Just remember that once we are in maintenance, it is very important for continuing successful to have some sort of regular exercise in one's life. :flow1::flow1::flow1: (spring flowers for all) Liana We may not be losing pounds on the scale when exercising because the body holds on to water for muscle repair BUT, you will lose inches as toning occurs, and once the muscles have repaired (on your non-exercise days) then the body will drop the water. You WILL SEE a change in the composition of your body without seeing actual pounds lost at times. Something to be aware of... |
Sheesh, write something scientific or highlight a link to a scientific study and post it somewhere, and before you know it you'll be getting ads for genetic engineering sites and finding the right infectants to assist you in splicing. Invitrogen: transfection and genome engineering handbook... What the heck!! This is showing up on the sidebar of my page. Usually it's vitamins or Jillian Michaels, lol.
BTW, the reboot is coming along, just hit a bit of a speedbump though. feeling better this week... down from scream weight, lol. Liana |
I am ready to reboot! In 2012 I lost 50 pounds on IP with a coach and I kept it off for over two years. I ran into some family stress and returned to some old and unhealthy habits. I have now need to lose 25 to be back in my happy place. In 2012 I religiously followed the plan without exercise. Although thin, I did not feel fit. I noticed the lack of fitness in the last two ski seasons with my family. I started walking with friends and I plan to continue walking and hiking from the start, maybe just not as many miles. I am relying on this site to be my coach as I have some some good IP alternatives and have the knowledge from my previous experience. Coaching became accountability rather than a source of information, so here's to hoping I can hold myself accountable!

Starting IP Again
Hey folks. I hope all is well. Today marks day one for me. I weighed in last Thursday. I spoke to my coach and we agreed starting today made more sense because I was going camping over the weekend. I know in the past I did best when I used my journal and when I checked in here through out the day. Have a great day and Bring on the Headaches and Ketosis!

Wow canadjineh, that was GREAT advice about exercise!!! I am rebooting for a few weeks because I chowed down all summer without abandon... lost 30 lbs in 2013 and know it works. I have such a consistent habit of exercise though, that I don't want to get out of the habit!! ( I also call exercise my "mental health pill", knowing it really doesn't help with weight loss but sure helps with mood!!)
I love, love, love this site and am glad to see some posters that I used to follow before.. checking in here several times a day really helps get the mind in the right place. |
Good morning ladies. Duke love your quote...exercice is my mental health pill...i feel the same way. I get up in the morning tondona workout (jillian Micheals) and I feel like I have energy all day long. I can accept slower weight loss if it means I will have a leaner body.
To my Canadian Ipeeps....I'm looking for a new scale ( I think I stomped on mine a few too many times...lol). Saw great reviews for the Eatsmart on a thread but when I went on Amazon I learned that it would not ship here. Any of you lafdies konw where it can be purchaed in Canada? Or if you know of any scale that will also measure body fat...and that you love that is sold on Canada? Thanks and have a great day! |
Day 2 of my reboot. I always gain weight in the summer. Too many fun outings thar involve picnic food. I feel so much better when I am on the ideal protein diet. I can do this. I need to be able to wear my jeans that are in my closet.

I agree. Checking in keeps me focused and I feel like it keeps me accountable too. |
Hi All- Rebooting again...Day 1.
Need to lose 10 up lbs and then an additional 10. Thanks for being here!!:dizzy: |
Hi All! Good to see some familiar names. Hi Coffeebean and Usmcvet. Welcome back! And welcome to all of the rebooters.
I began this current reboot about 3 weeks ago. I'm down 8 pounds. After the first week it's coming off pretty slowly. But I'm ok as long as the direction is down. :) I've been using alternatives from Nashua these past 3 weeks. Today I went to see my coach and buy a few IP products that I really like, just for variety. It was great to see my coach. She's always very supportive. I can go in at any time and buy IP products. She'll sit with me and talk for a half hour, if I request. So...here's what she said when I told her that I've lost 8 on the reboot in 3 weeks and that I need to lose another 15 to fit into all of the great clothes that I bought when I was at goal. I told her that I know it's a like repeat record to keep coming back, but that I'm determined not to gain all of it back. (I lost 80 the first time around.) She smiled and "high-fived" me. She said that many people don't realize that it is an ongoing process. When you get your hair cut or colored you might love it. But after 2 months you need "upkeep." Same thing with weight loss. She made me feel successful and supported in coming back and doing these little reboots a few times each year. I felt good (as I usually do when I see her) and motivated to continue. -- and I got my beloved broc-cheese soups too! Just thought I'd pass that on. Kudus to all of us for coming back when we need to - to IP and here. |
I'm joining the party and rebooting. Got within 9 pounds of my goal a couple years ago and this past year the weight has slowly found me :(
I agree with joysh and her coach...rather than beating ourselves up for gaining, we should be giving ourselves a big pat on the back for having the smarts and courage to reboot. Sending positive IP vibes to all! |
Day 3 of reboot. I spend so much time beating myself up for gaining most of my weight back. I need to pick myself up and move on. I can't undo it.. The thing is when I lost my weight I was so sure I would not gain it back. I need to figure out why I eat just to be eating..
|
Day 53 of reboot. I want to encourage everyone to stick to your plan.....it feels great.
Exercise is a funny part of IP. I also have to keep my exercise routine for my mental and physical health but it does impede my losses. I might convert fat to muscle and lose inches but I notice it does slow my losses if I don't add packets/egg whites. |
