  • My first weigh in and I'm down 5.2 lbs!!! I'm one happy lady this morning!
  • First week on reboot. 10# down. And first day was a total loss. Really 6 days. not official weigh in because I am so far from clinic. I only am going there once a month unless I can't keep it on track.
  • Wylothar
I consider any WI on a consistent scale "official"!
    Congrats
  • About to head in for my 3rd official IP weigh in (home scales show a pretty good loss; curious about what clinic's will show). Maybe the measurements will be more "routine" now. I've decided that I will hold the tape instead of them. That way the tape will be in exactly same spots and held at same "tightness" instead of having a different person doing it "their" way each week. I loaded up on IP products last week so to build up my pantry but I love that mango drink! And I haven't tried the SW snacks yet. I've seen quite a few recipes that use them as a "breading". Need to do something with my chicken instead of just boiling or baking "naked".

Have a great day and may all your weigh ins be on the downside!!
  • Well no more S'more Quest bars for me. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I felt horrible after eating one yesterday. I had a headache and felt bloated. I swear I still don't feel "right". Needless to say I gave the box to my daughter!! I will stick to IP restricted's from now on.
  • readytolive - Congrats on the loss!

wylothar - I'm with Lisa on this. I'd make your home scale your official if your consistent on it. Monthly "official" weighs ins are so far apart!

frawniemae - Good idea about the measuring tape! I get bounced between two coaches, which I actually don't mind because I like them both but the measurements tend to be off on the weeks I bounce between them. So I just take my measurements with a grain of salt on those weeks.

Kellyc14 - That sucks about the quest bars...is it just the smore ones that do that to you? I haven't tried the smores bars yet as I'm not on alternatives but I plan on using quest bars in maintenance (I have a ton of them from an order I placed right before I heard about IP, along with some quest chips - I had a bit of a quest addiction pre-IP)

I hope everyone is having a great day so far!

I have marinated chicken in various WF dressings and barbecue sauce. The taste is better as a marinate, not as much after taste.

To save money I use both IP and alternatives. I've been just supplementing with Advantage Carb Control drinks but decided to buy some quest bars yesterday. I've had the strawberry cheesecake and cookie dough quest bars and they didn't cause any problems. I guess it's for the best that the S'mores didn't agree with me....I didn't really need them anyway! I plan on using Quest products in maintenance.

Hi frawniemae, I love that mango drink too (if you mean the RTD)! IP once posted a recipe for "ice cream" that entailed adding a little ginger and freezing it. I never made it but it sure looked good!

I agree with the suggestions to try Walden farms products. Everyone has different taste buds but fwiw, I became hooked on chicken for my 7 months of P1 all because of WF. Mostly I made a dipping sauce by mixing the Thickn n Spicy BBQ sauce with their basic mayo. I also liked putting their balsamic or Italian vinaigrette over chicken after it came out of the broiler.

Some WF products have a weird taste and it's trial and error to see what you like. The best price I found is at Vitacost.com, but you have to buy 2 of each item.

Sounds like you will rock your next weigh in.
  • Hi ladies! Just wondering if any of our active gals have any suggestions on how to ease sore muscles? I am back to doing Les Mills Body Pump (just did the first one on Monday) and it hurts to walk, lol!

I roasted up a ton of broccoli and brussell sprouts last night, so excited for lunch today!

Congrats readytolive. Love the first week and how motivating it can be!

Grats wylothar, you're an old hand at IP and you know your science so we know you'll do great.

Good luck frawniemae! I poach my chicken in lime and toss on a little chili powder and keep turning until it's nicely coated and browns up.

Could always try a little eggwash and then coat it with smashed IP chips and bake it though. Some WF BBQ sauce for dipping.

And, last but not least, eggwash with the crispy cereal coating then dunked into some low carb, low cal buffalo sauce. This is hubby's favourite and why we still get the crispy cereal.

Did you take a look at the ingredients and see if there was something different in the S'mores one? Might be something you have a sensitivity to, or could be a change of sweetener. Hope you're feeling more comfortable today!

Hot bath and gently massage the offending muscle underwater. Lavender and Rose oil seems to help me. Or, if you have one of those foam rollers to rub along the muscle they help, too. Some people swear by gentle yoga moves that stretch the muscle out and release the tension and tightness. Some really good yoga vids on Youtube ... there's one I particularly like, Adriene, who does a range of beginners and intermediates.

Out of the 180s for me, and a lower weight than hubby once more. Shocked to fit into his 36" jeans (despite them being WAY too long) but feeling happy and good. Such things motivate me as much as the scale number!

To celebrate hubby's going to buy us another two flavours of the Quest protein powder. I suspect it has more to do with him having discovered the Quest cookbook page than a reward, if truth is known. I'm pretty sure the strawberry cheesecake recipe is in my future. Men!

    Have a great day IPeeps!
  • Amanda- I had to laugh- I made hubby weigh the other day, he weighed 186- 2 pounds more than me!!! Yay!!! The next day (while he was out) I tried on his jeans (🙀 thought for sure I was the only one who did that!! &#128540 and they fit!!! Hubby's taller than me and slender, I didn't think they'd fit! Of course they are loose on him and hugged my curves- but they fit!!! Lol

I still have a hard time seeing myself at my new weight.

I didn't check the ingredients in the S'mores bar, but I will when I get home.
  • Welp...didn't make it to the weigh in. I have to drive 40 miles there through a lot of road construction on th interstate. With the rain and usual orning traffic, it was at a standstill when I started to get on it. Nope...not doing it. So I rescheduled for tomorrow. That's okay though - just adds one more day of weight loss for the weigh in!

Thanks for all of the ideas on preparing and serving chicken. I have to be able to make it NOT taste like chicken for hubbie to eat it! I use some WF products but will get some more that were suggested. When I can make my own version of IP friendly dips and dressings, I will.

And congrats on all the NSVs I've read. Especially love the getting into your hubbie's jeans one! (that sounded naughty) but I'm sure that was really a great feeling!
  • Hi everyone. Costco-run day, but just wanted to hop on real quick.
Teags -- great job with the workout! Amanda's suggestions all sound just right. If you try a bath, toss in epsom salts. A heating pad can also be a good friend

And Amanda -- yay on the 170s! And to you and kelly -- hilarious about the jeans! I've been having a similar competition with my son (he doesn't know it), but just with regard to weight. I'd never try fitting into his super slim 28 waist jeans! But I do believe I've made it to being the lightest in the fam. Of course, I'm also the shortest by far….

Love all the chicken ideas. Thanks for asking about that, frawnie. And kimo, love how close you're getting!
