Ok Well today is tomorrow again and let's see if I can do 1 perfect Phase 1 IP day. That is my goal 1. Tonight I meet up with some girls on P1 so excited. I asked my coach to check if anyone wanted a diet buddy and she found 2 people perhaps this will be just what I need. :high:

Wish me luck!!! and good luck to all of you!!!!

I'm the same as you. I followed the program perfectly to lose close to 95 pounds. In my short time on maintenance I struggled to find my way and then Christmas cookies kicked my butt so started January up 14 pounds deciding to reboot to lower than my previous goal. I'm now just below my scream weight and can't stay focussed at all. 2 weeks of P1 and now I cheat myself everyday. I shouldn't be that surprised as I started the same pattern in the last couple weeks of P1 last time as I learned what I could get away with. I really want to lose 10 more pounds!! But after going back to that food variety so recently I am feeling more deprived this time. Keep rationalizing doing this in p3 instead. Doing it on my own isn't working either. I think I need to book a weigh in with my clinic to be held more accountable.

I did the same thing, just ate like I had never known what it was like to eat healthy, feel better and lose weight. Funny thing is it made me feel terrible. Didn't stop me though, ridicules. But the first go around I had someone I was doing it with and we talked everyday and planned meals and bought products together. Everyone in my office was onboard and when I walked in from my weigh in's they would all say "how much, how'd you do" Now its old news to them. So I am trying to find ways to make myself accountable. I asked a girl at work who is super healthy a previous body builder to push me and ask me, which she's doing that helps. My very good friend who did it with me is asking. And as I mentioned I'm meeting the two girls tonight.

Hey let's commit to each other that we will have a perfect IP day today!!!?? We will check in with each other in the morning?? What do you think?

Good luck to us both!!!!!!

I didn't read this early enough :o. I'll have to do better tmo. I was fine until 5 pm. My life is so much busier than when I did P1 the first time. Glad I could focus then! I can totally live at my current weight and so thankful I am not where I started lat February.

Wow yes you have maintained great! I cannot say the same, I'm either losing or gaining. Trying to be serious about P1 and I've yet to have a 100% day since I started 2nd of January. I'm down 7 lbs not good on this diet for a first month. I lost that in the first week in ketosis, I just don't seem to let myself get there :(. Again as you today I did great all day and even dinner with the exception of butter on my broccoli, but evening came and I ate nuts ;( and then made IP pasta with chicken even though I'd had all my food allowed.
I met up with two ladies last night that are on P1, we are going to keep in touch and encourage each other.
I'm putting together a cooking social with P1 folks coming over to share recipes and show them how I make breads from soups and make burgers and pizza ;) That should be fun.
Trying to build a life around IP with people all around me so it helps me realize its a journey that can be fun and is a permanent part of my life.

*** hello brain knock knock get the message LOL he he

Chip you are an encouragement having maintained :) thank you so much for responding!!!!!

I'm glad you said that because I have just been bargaining with myself to start back on Sunday!

Your decision to help others on IP will really help. I know I was doing that the first time around and it inspired me.

Here is to an OP day. You may not hear from me until Sunday. Hockey tonight and an all day volleyball tournament tomorrow- it was my downfall last weekend. I need to leave at break and get away from the buffet table.

It's OK to do light exercise on IP... walking is perfect as is swimming or cycling (not race speeds though). The idea is to get moving - it's a good habit for maintenance anyhow, just try not to break into heavy breathing or sweating in P1. Just get yourself a little glow from fresh air and active muscles. :bike2::swim::tread:

Liana,
Thanks for the tip!
I am walking 15 mins a day most days. That's about a 1/2 mile, so, no sweating involved. I downloaded some great walking music to my mp3player and listened to them while walking at the track so I know exactly how many songs it takes to walk a 1/2 mile. Now, when I'm walking at work during lunch, I know how many of which songs to listen to, to reach my goal.
I am going to start doing some light weight lifting - sort of. My co-worker gave me some great tips on what exercises I can do using just my body weight to strengthen my back, stomach, and thighs. They are soft on the body and I can do them while I cook or watch tv. Still, no sweating... :)
I have a large bust and it is taking it's toll on my back. So... strength training for my back is a must.
I also want to start swimming, BUT,,, who's got time to go to the gym?!? :tantrum:
But, thank you for taking the time to give me some tips.
I so appreciate it... and the encouragement....

Rosey,,,

I've started the IP diet this month and have at least 50 lbs to lose. I had my gallbladder removed almost two years ago and I gained weight afterwards but never thought they were linked until now. I gained like 20 lbs. Then I got pregnant and gained like 50 lbs. I lost 20 of it but that's it. So here is where I start the IP diet. I found it through work. My job brings in the doctor weekly and allows us to see her on work time then gives us $100 rewards if we meet all our goals every 4 weeks. So I'm lucky in the rewards and that I have co-workers going through the same thing.
I'm glad to have found this blog as well and hear others struggles and knowing that I am not alone. :-)

Hi everyone! I am brand new to these boards. I am hoping it will help me on this long and difficult journey I have ahead of me.

I started on IP on Jan 9, so I have been on it for a full 2 weeks now. Don't get me wrong, I really like it and it is one of the easier-to-follow diets that I have tried, but it just feels like I've already been on it forever, even though it's only been 2 weeks and I know I have months and months to go. I think maybe it's because I've just been hyper-focused on staying on the diet and the new changes to my routine. I am hoping that once things get more stable that the weeks will just fly by.

I have been heavy my entire adult life, and have tried but have had limited success with diets in the past. I can see it on my husband's face - the hope, the encouragement, but also the caution, not to get his hopes up too high, to protect against disappointment. But, this time feels different. This time feels like I could really do this.

I have lost 10 lbs. in 2 weeks. I have followed the program every day with no cheating. I feel that I could be doing better, but I feel like my body is very stubbornly holding on to what it's had for so many years now.

I want to be active, I want to be able to do things that I couldn't or was too embarrassed to do. I want to be a good role model to my 9 year old daughter. I want to enjoy life. This is why I am on this journey. I have to remind myself every day. One week, one day, one meal, one decision at a time. It will happen. I am in control.

Thanks for listening. I can't tell you how much reading everyone's stories have helped me get to the point where I believed this is something I could do. Thanks all!!

Thank you Lisa, yes, my coach has encouraged me to use the option of eating foods from those extra food groups. I haven't been doing it very much, but this evening I did. I feel a little better now, the shaking has stopped.

Related to this...the last few days I've been very shaky and feeling dizzy which I know is my blood sugar dropping. I am not diabetic and not considered pre-diabetic but have always had this (when I was pregnant and doing the 3 hour glucose I actually almost passed out). The weird thing is why is this happening now on the diet? I have been on the diet since September 2014 and other then the first week haven't really felt this. Today, it's 4:00 I had to have my "snack" protein bar already. I thought I might be dehydrated so I have been drinking alot of water. Now, I'm roasting some veggies that would be for my dinner but just eating them early. Is it just a fluke or is it a cumulative thing? my TOM is coming up but that hasn't affected me before. Strange. I asked my coach about it and she suggested that I always have protein every 3 hours. I already have protein at lunch but am wondering if I have to add a protein between lunch and dinner.

Hi everyone, I'm joining you in January also. I started IP on Tuesday, Jan. 20, after hearing a lot about it from my brother who had a great experience with IP. I weighed in at the center at 304 pounds and my first weigh in will be Monday, and that will be my weigh in day from now on, since Tuesdays are usually too busy for me to get to the weigh in place. My husband is on this journey with me as well. So far we've been doing well, got through those first few hard days, and are seeing what foods we like and what foods we do NOT want to get again. :) Looking forward to getting to know everyone, encouraging everyone, and getting to a healthier weight!

Getting started today. I've gathered lots info here so thanks!

Using Premier Protein shakes, some IP food and just ordered some items from Quest. My challenge is that I work in outside sales and am on the road and fast food/dining out is more convenient. I also am horrible about not eating/drinking anything until around noon.

I started drinking the shakes in the morning since the end of the year so getting into that routine. The veggies will be a challenge. I guess raw veggie are going to have to work during the day and cooked veggies in the evening. I'd appreciate suggestions on IP or alternative items for lunch.

Wish me the success that I've seen many attain :)

This is amazing for 2 weeks, and you have the mentality. No cheats.
Say it out loud ' I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks"

When have you done this with another way of eating? Don't shortchange yourself in your results.

I have been using my shake for breakfast and my Quest bar for lunch. The raw veggies can be used for a snack at any time. That with my water keeps me satisfied until supper. So easy with the bar at lunch as it can be thrown into a purse. Have been on IP since Dec 7 with a day off at Christmas and New Years and have lost 16 pounds so seems to be working. Good luck :dizzy:
