I am definitely not getting enough calories ... If (and that is a big IF) I have 3 shakes 330 calories plus 1 restricted 200 calories and some salad? 600 - 700 calories a day I am assuming is not good - especially when I am 5'10 and my current Basal Metabolic Rate is 1688 kcal per day. Funny thing I still feel fine energy wise - but I still have 50 pounds to lose so it is not like my body can't find some fat stores to burn off.
My digestive system is fine ... except I am not eating much - so it is relative, I suppose. But no, not backed up.
I do however feel ill in the middle of the night and wake up from it.
Like heartburn ... however I am assuming it is because I have nothing in my stomach. If I have a shake, it goes away.
My IP coach said she had one other client who had the same thing - however I do not know if it is a passing thing (forgot to ask) and I do not see her for another week - which is the reason I wanted to ask here.
I am also considering doing some exercise classes ... if I burn more calories it might kick start my appetite.
First off, congrats on your weight loss!!!
Are you eating your veggies, too? Not just salad? And adding oil?
For me, 700 cals is usually my low end. I'm often 7-900 with occasional days up to 1000. Blending veggies into shakes or pureeing them to add to soups is an easy way to get the veggies in but not add bulk, especially if you lack appetite.
IP is NOT a balanced diet. We maintain on balanced diets and lose when we unbalance for a while. Look at your progress!
Many people (not all) get a ketogenic lack of hunger, which is what renders this diet so effective. If I'm not hungry, I'm less apt to stray.
I had to add digestive enzymes to assist with heartburn and other stomach problems, which existed prior to IP but I'm learning to deal with them.
Exercise is really not recommended for people on these very low cal diets, unless it is very gentle (gentle yoga or walking the dog, for example
