Good Morning Everyone......

WI today. Not really feeling it even though I have been 100% this week, but I will see if their scale is different then mine....maybe I'll be surprised. Picking up my vacation pre order today too. Still have 1 week, so that gives me time to organize my food and next week I can pick up anything I may have missed ordering.

Thanks for all the support! Really helps being a newbie! Almost at my 20 days here to make my signature.....little things make me happy LOL

Sgrealtor1 - Good luck on your WI. Funny how sometimes we just don't feel like any weight is gone - had a bunch of those weeks and sometimes I was right and sometimes I was surprised. I've used my home scale as a "that's interesting" device and only counted the coach's scale for official weight.

and good for you for pre-planning your vacation food! Makes all the difference.

Good luck today! My scale is 4 pounds lower than my coach's. I found this out by weighing myself one day right before I left for my WI. Same clothes, same day, same time. But now that I know that, I can keep tabs on how I am doing (I know it isn't accurate to weigh daily because of various fluctuations but I get an idea of how things are going in general).

I know what you mean about the signature. I was SO excited to be able to do that! haha. It IS the little things.

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!

It just dawned on me today that I only have ONE more week left on P1 (at least until I have P1 days in maintenance, etc)! I'm doubly excited and scared to move off, but I know my weight loss is where it needs to be. Even though I still have some curves on these bones, I am about to lose any remnant of "girls" that might be left after nursing two babies. Thus far, I have gone from a 36D (and a few DD) to right now a 34C (looking a little loose...eek!). Hoping that most of my glycogen stores are in my bra, lol!

My inlaws brought TONS and TONS of cucumbers from family garden(s)...I understand why pickles were invented - who can eat that many fresh cukes? So, I have some recipe scouring to do to use up about 30 cucumbers in the next week or so. Man, wish it were zuchini instead!

Have a great day all!

I am going to keep posting here for accountability. Yesterday I was starving all day and ate omlette at 615, cap drink at 10, veggie chili and salad at 1230, chicken noodle soup at 3 and then pork chop and broccolinni at 700 followed by a brownie. I work 12 hour days and I know I should pack more cucumbers and celery to snack on from now on. It was just one of those days =(
Does everyone out there have these days? So far I have been mostly on plan and when I say that I mean 3 pkgs a day plus veggies and lean protein at dinner and my "off" days just mean 2 meals normal and 2 pkgs, my coach doesn't like it but sometimes I have to make do.

When you mean "normal", do you mean carbs? I guess I'm confused. If you are staying away from carbs, you won't stay in ketosis and receive the benefits it gives you of appetite suppressing.

Have you been on the diet more than 5 days consequetively 100% OP? If you havent', than you may not have really felt how your body deals with ketosis.

I do sympathize with long days.....I work evenings and often go 5-7 hours without a break (self employed) and don't get to eat my final meal sometimes until 10pm or later. My best advice is to break up your eating into smaller chunks instead of how IP has the "big" meal for dinner. I always split my dinner protein up....usually lunch and dinner but sometimes even breakfast (with an egg). Not sure what your stats are, do you need to add an extra packet? Also, maybe the diabetics plan is better suited to you . GL!

I am staying away from carbs....normal mean non pkg meals. Lean protein and veggies as I don't love eating all the packaged food. I am 23 days in and have not had anything other than 2 quest bars in this time that aren't IP and that was because I had a 100K cycling event one day.

Lisa - I just googled thyroid issues and was surprised about how many symptoms I have. Most noticeable to me is my need to nap. I always love an afternoon nap, but these days I am exhausted and instead of a 20 min cat nap am having a 2 hr siesta. I still never feel refreshed. I always think that I'll 'catch up' on sleep in the summer, but I feel more tired than ever. Do you have a good website or book that you recommend? I think I'll make a dr. appt. but until I can get in to see her, just wondering if anyone has helpful tips for thyroid issues.

OK...got it! Quest bars aren't IP but many of them meet the requirements as a restricted. I LOVE them! I'm wondering if you are not getting enough calories for your activity level? IP wants us to shelf cardio while we are on P1 as we supposed to "just give our bodies one thing to do a at a time". Are you an avid cyclist, or do you exercise heavily?

I'm wondering if IP is the right plan for you.

Unhappy

OH NO!!!! I just realized that I "accidentally" drank an EAS Complete Protein Drink this morning!!! I bought them yesterday and they were in the spot where the Advantage Carb Control drinks should have been. I didn't notice that they were different until I just went to put a splash in my coffee. I wasn't quite awake this morning when I drank a whole container!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have 170 cals, 15 net carbs and 20 protein!!! Did I screw up??? Will it knock me out of ketosis? I'm seriously freaking out!!!

I have a really neat recipe for a stew that has cucumbers in it - sounds weird but really amazing - perhaps you could adapt it to P1:
From the "Monday to Friday Cookbook" Michele Urvater - she is a professional cook who wrote this book for people with complicated lives and sophisticated tastes who haven't time to fuss. It is my most splattered and wavy-paged cookbook - so you know it's good. Her cookbook is all about simple solid cooking, thrift, organization, flexibility, good nutrition, ease, and knowing how to rummage in the pantry and fridge. Her recipes can be stopped in the middle and restarted, eaten at any temperature, etc.

Comfort Stew 4 ppl
-Chop Onion 1 whole, sweat in a pan with 1 tbsp. oil - this is allowed but don't let it brown on P1
-carrots (or on P1 whatever root veggies you are allowed, turnip, etc)
-1 lb cubed of your choice of stewing meat veal, etc or use pork tenderloin - won't need to cook as long.
-2 c chicken broth or 1c each broth & tomato juice (better with tomato though)
-1 or 2 large cucumbers
1/4 c FRESH dill leaves (very important - they must be fresh)
-S&P to taste

Add veal to onions and brown meat (don't be alarmed at all the water.)
Add broth/juice, bring to boil, simmer gently, remove any scum with a spoon.
Add veggies and S&P (NOT the cukes yet), simmer over low heat til meat is tender. 40 min or so
Meanwhile peel if necessary, seed, cut cuke into 1/2 inch cubes and mince dill.
When meat & veg are done add the cuke and dill to the pot, cover and let stand off heat 10 min to warm the cuke without cooking it through. Adjust seasoning and serve hot in deep bowls.

Yummy. Try ordering her book out of the library and taking a look at some of the recipes.

Kelly - You will be fine. Many of the IP bars have 15 or more net carbs and the raspberry jelly has 20 protein. Just count it as your restricted item for the day.

Default New here

Hi everyone! I joined IP on 6/21. I'm down 17 lbs, but the last couple weeks have been a struggle - been dealing with nausea, headaches and dizziness (also... TMI... the big "C" which is a huge issue for me because it kicks up my kidney issues). I've been stalking this board for a few months and just wanted to thank everyone - I've learned more here than I could ever learn from my coach. In fact... it's given me the courage to start an alternative plan this weekend. I've read every post on the alternative threads. I feel that I'm to a point where I've learned the rules (although things have stalled for me weight-loss-wise) that with a little more research and planning I can purchase alternative products for a LOT cheaper. I'm nervous though - I paid a lot of $$$ for my current weight loss and I'm very protective of it, so I'm having some major anxiety about switching products. I'll go over to the alternative thread to ask questions so I won't clog up the chat, but I just wanted to pop in here and give a huge thanks to everyone on this board!

Default IP Rotini/Proti-Thin Fusilli

https://www.nashuanutrition.com/stor...lli-7-box.html

I have been using 3/4 of a package of the proti-thin pasta mixed with veggies for lunches for a while now. I just went to order more and it is marked as indefinitely unavailable. I stopped going to my clinic in Decmeber, so I would have to find the IP Rotini on ebay to purchase it and I liked the proti-thin version better.

Is there any other pasta that people are eating (other than miracle noodles)? I'm going to cross post in the alternatives thread but though I would get more eyes here.

Thanks!
