Thanks for the advice, Ruth Ann!
Happy to report my scale has still read 130 despite 3 P3 days. I'm preparing myself to see those dreaded "up" glycogen stores and not stress out about it. I comfortably ate 6oz of chicken at lunch and feel that is a good aim for dinner. 8oz is just too much in one sitting for me! Am planning a "greek" breakfast gyro tomorrow with homemade tzaziki sauce...I love "eating like a king" for breakfast! |
Yaaaaay, Jenny, and welcome to maintainers... Hi to all the gals too!
Liana |
Joysh: How true about how important perspective is! As we get used to our "new normals" it's important to recognize how far we've come!
|
joysh: I love your pants story! I wore 24/26 at my highest and kept just one pair. Pulled them out the other day and can just about wrap them around myself. I need to keep my perspective when worrying about the scale going up a pound of three since 1) it's been coming back down in a day or two and 2) this is my new "normal" and it's time to set new goals based on my current normal.
evemomma = great on staying the same in P3! As long as you are getting adequate protein for your size and activity level you'll be fine. Your Greek breakfast sounds yummy - never thought of doing that. Hm... dh's uncle had a great restaurant and I have a bunch of his old recipes here somewhere, may have to pull them out. Liana - hope the relatives visit is still going well! Playing tour guide can be exhausting. bubbleblower - (your user name still makes me smile) Exactly! Going to be a quiet day for us - dh isn't up to going any place we were invited so I picked up the most gorgeous rib eye steaks (well, it's actually one 2.5 lb steak that dh will cut into 2 steaks) and we'll bbq. Way more meat than I probably need to eat and will probably have left overs, but oh my these were nice. Hope everyone has a great day! |

Partly due to the fact that we were moving right after I phased off of IP, I got rid of all of my larger clothes. I think that's one of the reasons I feel so chubby when I put on even a few pounds. I hate feeling that my clothes are tight. I lowered my goal weight for my reboot so I will have a little more leeway this time around. No spin class for me today due to the holiday, but I hope to get some swimming in. I have a really big trip coming up (almost three weeks diving and taking photos halfway around the world) so I have incentive to get back to goal by the middle of the month. So far, so good! Hope you all have a great day! |
Thanks Joysh, sounds like you had a good trip. I wish I kept some of "my fat pants" I was up to a size 24 at what point. It is so true that a different times I still feel like that "fat" girl.
Eve - I love that you are still holding your weight steady at P3. Sounds like you are happier not eating so much protein at one serving and still feeling content which is awesome. Thanks Liana - I am happy to be on the maintainers board and committed to being successful like you ladies. Ruth ann- Your steaks sounds yummy. Enjoy your quiet day. It is labour day for us here in Canada to and heading home to get the kids ready for school. Don't feel to prepared and have yet to do the fall clothes shopping. These kids are growing too fast. This will be the first year they are in separate classes, at their own request, so have to find two gr. 1 teachers tomorrow. |
bubbleblower,
Your trip sounds exciting where are you diving? I have always been too nervous to try that. I imagine you are going to get some awesome pictures. I miss my spin classes, my new gym doesn't have them. What a great workout it can be. |
Good morning everyone,
Welcome Jenny! Congratulations on your success and I love that you have incorporated exercise as a vital part. Good luck with the start of school. Bubbleblower- your upcoming vacation sound like a fantastic motivator for hitting your new goal weight. Ruth Ann- enjoy your quiet day and the steaks. Hope your DH feels better soon. As for the weight perspective, I definitely have my feeling chubby days. It does seem crazy compared to a year ago but I am sensitive to the two pound bloat after a free meal. In maintenance, I am finding that my body really does not like some carb foods digestively. Another reason to limit my intake. No food is worth feeling crummy, it really ruins the indulgence. |
Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great holiday weekend! I just got home after visiting some good friends for overnight to today. We grilled. She's recently started P1 - and I'm still in my week of P1 - so we grilled (her Dh grilled) chicken and and veggies. It was very yummy.
Jenny, do you have twins beginning first grade? My daughter has twin girls who are 3 years old. She put them in separate classes for the first time this week. Warm wishes to all! |
Hey gals:wave:. How's things. My visitors leave tomorrow (I am at work tonight) and although they are great guests, I'd like a bit of relaxing alone time with DH...
At least my weight is still at 132 today. |
Jenny, I'm going to Bali. Can't wait! I was able to use my miles to get a free first class ticket so I'll be going in style. :D And it will be nice not to worry about the weight of my luggage. My camera rig alone is 40 pounds. I've been diving since the mid-80s and honestly can't imagine life without it.
I started spinning a year ago and really enjoy it. And it's definitely a great workout! Now I need to start adding in some strength building into my weekly routine. Hope you all have a great Tuesday! |
Sounds like everyone is doing really well - hooray!
Met with the plastic surgeon today about doing a reduction. She thinks we'll have no problem with the insurance company so hoping to get it done before the end of the year (assuming work schedule doesn't interfere). I'm anxious to get it over with. Just hope the insurance company doesn't take forever approving it - they can be fickle creatures. |

Ruthann: That is great news about insurance covering your reduction. I hope it helps you!
Bubbleblower: I would love to go to Bali. That is one place I have always wanted to go. Plus going first class will make that long plane ride more enjoyable. Jenny: welcome to maintenance. I had twin boys. I am sure you will find two first grade classes. Slipfree. glad school is going well. I hear you on the tired teacher syndrome. Eandc: Enjoy Wyoming and your trip. Canadjineh: Enjoy that quiet time with your husband after those guests. Evemomma: I love greek food and often have a greek breakfast as well. Joysh: That was an amusing pants story. I finally got rid of my large clothes. Hawaii: I hope your week is going well. I had a good labor day weekend and now am way too busy! Back to cooking ahead for work lunches. Here is my new favorite quote:' A decision about what to weigh is a decision on how to live. |
