Don't feel bad, when you are doing strength training your muscles will be microscopically breaking down and then rebuilding overnight. This means you will be retaining some fluids as you are actually causing inflammation - in a good way though. Just don't be surprised if your losses are slower. Work a bit more on endurance and less on strength building and you will do fine. Remember, this phase is not permanent, you will be able to get back to your old fitness plan or an even better one after your losses. Your body can only work on one thing at a time, you are either working on processing the stored fat, or working on building muscle, but it doesn't do as well trying to do both things at once. Kind of like texting while driving

Hi peeps.....just got bck from visiting my 3 yr old grandaugher for a few days. Packed my IP food and went on the 300 mile road trip stopping at a bakery (old habit) just bought cookies for the hubby and filled up my water cup and went on my way. Maybe I have more willpower than I give myself credit for. I will be ready for my weigh-in on Monday! So far I am down 13lbs since my start date a few weeks ago

Smile July Starter

It has been one week for me today and looking forward to weigh in tonight to see how close they are to my scale at home (which isn't fancy). The week was pretty good. Found it hard to get all the food in some days. I have quite a bit to lose, but don't know how to put that on here the way everyone does. Do enjoy this blog.

Default Monday weigh-in

Just finished two weeks. Lost 2.5 lbs in week two. Sort of not inspired. thought I would lose another 5lbs, but was told 2.5 lbs each week is normal loss averaging to 10 lbs a month loss. Had no time to pack salad veggies today, so I am only eating product so far and I am not satisfied. I had vanilla prepared shake at 7:30 choco shake mix at 9, mushroom soup at 12, bbq chips at 2 and now just had a vanilla shke mix and broc cheese soup! 6 products -- I messed up already....

hang in there! I can't give too much advice though since I am only on week 4. I lost 7 lbs in week one, 5 lbs week two, and then .2 in week three. I have to say I was really disappointed in the .2 of a pound. But I'm still packing those vegetables and hoping to see something on the scale this week! The body is so unpredictable, you probably will see a larger loss next week!

Feel a little depressed today...weight loss has been going fine, but went to family get together last night. I stayed 100% IP, but it was very depressing seeing all that good food and not being able to eat it. Then I had to listen to my SIL tell me that this diet is all wrong because it's so restrictive....I told her that me going off the diet was not an option!!!!!!....that shut her up. But still feeling kinda "down". I'm finishing my 2nd week, so I know my brain still has a lot of work wrapping itself around this new way eating.

Stanski, I feel ya. I went to a birthday party this weekend and the only thing that they had that I could eat was broccoli, which is fine, they don't need to cater to my needs. But everyone was drinking and having a good time, eating cake, poboys, artichoke balls, dipping that broccoli in ranch dressing, etc. etc. I had an IP pack in my car in case it got too bad, but I stuck through it. It sucked though.

I'm a month and a half into this diet and I still am wrapping my brain around some things. What's weird is that I don't CRAVE these bad foods but when they are sitting right in front of me, part of me does miss them. Kinda like you don't take a recovering alcoholic to a bar thing - we can't tell people not to eat good tasting food in front of us though. It's a learning process and I'm constantly evolving.

Like my coach says, P1 is not forever. It's for right now. So give it my all.

Thanks Kissi....that made me feel better!!!!! My husband said the same thing about the alcoholic thing to me when I told him I was feeling down. I guess we don't realize we are as addicted to food, as an addict is to crack or an alcoholic is to liquor. Looking forward to my 2nd week weight in tomorrow. There's always something to look forward to.

Hi, I am in week 2 and if anyone out there can give me ideas for veggies please do. I read all I can find for recipes and most include cauliflower which to me taste terrible no matter what I do and I have tried it all. I also don't like onions, peppers or mushrooms. I don't think I can eat anymore zucchini or asparagus after alternating between the 2 for the last 15 days. Ideas?

Ruby - try kale, spinach, jicama, kholrabi, cabbage, celery etc. Roasted cabbage, broccoli, etc. are wonderful. There are tons of great recipes that don't involve cauliflower.
