schenectady: what an elegant dress!

I'm in Ballwin. In the big scheme of things, we're practically neighbors!

I'm out your way quite a bit. My family lives out there. I have two nephews at Marquette and one at Selvedge.

I am still fairly new to IP. I have had some challenging stuff with graduations and family vacations and have struggled to get back on track to 100%. Today I was pleased that I planned my meals for the day with lots of fresh produce from our neighborhood CSA (local farm) and have beautiful fresh greens to incorporate into my meals plans.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the day.

Jenny

Jenny, great planning! Fresh produce is wonderful this time of year. Congrats for getting back on track.

A great day! I stopped into Nordstrom on my way home, just to see whether they had any dresses I could find for a wedding I have to go to in July as obviously I would not have that sort of thing hanging in my closet these days.

How much fun it was to look at the regular sizes...marched right up to the size 12's and starting spinning around the rack.

This is what I found and now own (at 80% discount!)....fits beautifully, covers the knees a smidge, has nice 3/4 length sleeves to handle bat wings....

Beautiful, classy dress! Glad that you had fun.

Bit of a NSV for me... I thought I would try to squeeze into a shirt that I bought last summer. It didn't button at all when I bought it, but I loved the colors and it was the largest size that they carried, so I just wore it unbuttoned over a tank top. Yesterday, not only did it button up easily, it is too big! I can grab a handful of extra shirt!

Yay! :yay:

Today is my 39th birthday and at dinner the kids were asking where the cake was. They got over the disappointment of no cake and enjoyed their fruit. What a difference from the year before where I would have had cake and probably ice cream to.

Happy Birthday! You are giving yourself a wonderful gift.

Happy Birthday! :bday2you:

Just think what a great thing you are teaching your kids - it's about the celebrating the birthday, not the food! congrats to you!

LOL -- I can't wait to wear stuff like that -- for the FIRST time. I've never been that small but that dress is inspiring. Soooo lovely! Please post a pic if you can when you're all done up...

First of all :bday2you: I personally have been 39 several times myself -- it's a great age to be! My kids made me an IP cake out of the chocolate pancake mix and iced it with a RTD pudding. We all loved the 'space cake' so there is a tidbit for other birthday go-ers... you can have your cake and eat it too! :)

Ruth -- we're typing simultaneously again... and now using the same smileys... I hear "twilight" music in the background (and I mean the Twilight ZONE not the new vampire kind!) LOL

... Hope I get to LOOK as good as you since we're on the same IP wavelength so often....

Too funny! Amazing how that happens. And I'll bet you look better than me when you get to goal, I'm jealous of your height - always wanted to be 5'6". Just think it's a really nice height for a woman. Darn genes.

IP43 06-10-2014 09:11 PM

Well I never appreciated my height before so thank you for the compliment. My MIL is under 5' and so is a good friend from high school. I know it's frustrating for them to buy clothes. Even the capris are too long. Sometimes we don't appreciate our blessings so for tonight, I'm thankful to be a 5'6"-- 39 again woman who is workin' out her willpower muscle to get that in shape!

Shut the front door, so do l! The Edwardsville market was what I was talking about! LOVE the Land of Goshen!

Posting to say howdy. Today was great regardless of non-stop meetings. Hubby made me a surprise salad for lunch, with all sorts of yummy veggies in there. I lost a few pounds on my WI and I got my ticker ticking. WF thousand island is a winner.

Snuggleburst 06-10-2014 11:59 PM

Hoooly moly. I just discovered that WF makes a Super Fruit Balsamic Vinaigrette.

My IP life may be complete.
