Calling all Newbies! IP or IP using Alternatives...Let's do this!
Hi there! I'm Linda and I Just started following the IP Protocol 5/21/2014. After seeing the amazing results my friend was having on the program, I knew it was for me. So today is day 4 and I love it! I took a peek at the scale and I'm already 6 lbs down! Whoohoo! I am 100% following the IP methodology but using Alternative products. :)
So far, my days go like this... Upon waking...Coffee B: Protein Shake L: Turkey breast with raw veggies ie... green peppers, cucumbers, radishes, green onion, mushrooms D: Lean steak with roasted broccoli and cauliflower and a green salad with some chopped fresh veggies. Dressing made with coconut vinegar and a little coconut oil S: Protein shake I'm Using Pink Himalayan sea salt liberally on my food Drinking about 100 oz or more of water each day. Sometimes I use my soda streamer to fizz it up :dizzy: and then add a slice of lemon, and sometimes I drink it just plain. I have to stay close to the potty because boy oh boy, am I am going like a race horse..lol Vitamins I'm currently taking... Multi vitamin Vit D3 Magnesium Calcium Potassium Vit C Carlson's finest Fish oil I feel GREAT except today I have a headache probably from my body detoxing. :p Anyway, I thought it would be a whole lotta fun to get a group of us that have recently started, planning to start, or even re-starting together for added accountability, support, and motivation. So join me and let's get this party started!! :carrot: ~Linda |

Hi everyone! I'm new to IP too this month - started on May 1st and I really haven't lost as much as I'd hope for my best friend's wedding I'm in on 6/21.....I have cheated the last two Sundays but tomorrow I'll do better!! I am on the boards here and there and have gotten some great ideas- I'm running low on the vitamins so I'm wondering what anyone has come up with for alternatives?
TIA :) |

Hi everyone. This is my first post here, so I hope I done mess it up. I started IP 5 weeks ago and lost 16 lbs in the first 4 weeks. I was away last week visiting my son who is a foodie and very over weight. The first 5 days of the visit I went totally nuts eating in resturants with him. I found that the longer I ate like that the worst I felt.
I convinced my son that if he wanted to loss weigh quickly, that IP was the way to go. On the 6th day of my "vacation" he joined a local IP centre and I got back on track. I know I will not cheat again till I have lost my weight and I know my son will succeed, he is a true warriour in every sense of the word. I called my weight coach today and thanked her from the bottom of my heart for 1. Convincing me to start this journey and 2. For hopefully changing my son's life |

Welcome Please join the daily chat That is where you'll find all the forum support. When I joined, I quickly discovered that the knowledge base was in the people "ahead" of me, rather than with the people who were new, like me. |

IP girl
;)Good morning,
So happy to be here with all of you! Started IP 5/14, 1st wk 7 lb loss, this second week little slip ups, have started working out. Feel good! Get my measurements taken Weds. Good luck, we can do this :-) |
Hi Linda!!!!!!:cp::cp::dancer::dancer:
So happy to see you on these boards!!! You will learn a ton from all the smart people and their posts on this forum. Plus - the enthusiasm you have for getting to a healthy weight will inspire others here. So happy to be on this journey together.......we have tried so many ways and I truly believe this is the right one. Outside of chopping a lot of veggies just puts your eating on remote control. So easy to plan once you get the principles down. Is Neat going to join these boards? Nancy P.S. What brand of vegetable slicer did you get? The one that makes zucchini shaped like pasta? |
Hi everyone! I am starting today. Looking forward to the support. I am a carb junkie and a chocoholic so this is going to be hard but I am going to give it a try!

I'm ready to do this, mind is right where it should be and I'm feeling fantastic already and I just started day 6! Crazy! Yes! Neat joined the group also, she is Butterfly2005  Hi Neat!! I got the paderno veggie spiral slicer from Amazon, it has 3 different blades so you can make a couple different thicknesses of noodles and also it does the ribbon cuts too. Here is the link to it... http://www.amazon.com/Paderno-World-...gie+spiralizer Looking forward to getting my "skinny" on with ya girlfriend! And again, welcome to the group! |

Hey, I hear you on being a carb junkie and chocoholic...I'm guilty as well. But every single day that passes that we don't eat that junk, it'll get easier and easier and the cravings will get less and less. We are going to do this! Ps. that is water in those glasses! lol |
Hello everyone! I thought it would be nice to tell a little about ourselves and maybe a little history about where each of us has been in our battle of the buldge. Let's get to know each other a little bit...
I'll start. I've lived in Sunny Arizona since 1998 but I am originally from Michigan. Love Arizona! I am married to a wonderful Man and we will be celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary this coming July 25th. We have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Our Son being the only one still in the nest. I have an Eclectus Parrot named Einstein who is a hoot, and I have a toy fox terrier named Mia who is a little sweetie. I was never overweight as a child or teenager or even in my early 20s. I started gaining weight after my Last child was born when I was 25. Year by year, I would gain a little more and a little more but I had a blind eye to it. Sure, I would try the most current diets and lose a little weight, but I never really took it serious. Not untill I found myself at 216 pounds in the year 2005 that is. At that time I finally realized that I had to do something. So, I decided on a diet that I saw on a TV infomercial. I did great. I was so head strong and would not cheat if my life depended on it. I lost about 66 pounds...getting down to 150. Felt great, looked great! Well It was the holidays and I decided to "take a break" and get back on the plan to lose that last 10 lbs after the holidays were over. Well that isn't what happened. To make a long story short, over the course of the next year or so, I gained ever single pound that I had worked so hard to lose... back. That was 8 years ago and since that time, I have tried many different diet plans out there and sure, I would lose 20 or 30 pounds but then I would completely fall off and gain it back. Over and over this has happened when I finally just gave up and accepted the fact that I was doomed to live trapped in this fat body for the rest of my life. Fast forward to about a week ago when my Friend Nancy told me about Ideal Protein and how awesome she was doing on it. I googled it and read as much as I could find on it and decided to go for it! It just clicked with me, and something inside me told me "this is it!" "you can do this!". So, I headed to the grocery store and loaded my cart with fresh lean meats, vegetables, healthy fats, some vinegars and spices and started the following day... Wednesday May 21st at my heaviest weight in my life... 221.4! I LOVE it! I have that fire back that I had all those years ago! This is my year, and I will reach my goal...that I know! Thank you Nancy! I feel blessed, happy, and thankful to be able to walk this journey hand and hand with you ladies. A few of you, I have known for many years, and we have fought our battles and struggled with our food addiction together, and the rest of you, we are surely to become warriors together. I look forward to locking arms with all of you and for all of us to reach our goals! ~Linda |

Linda, just wanted to say that your positive, can do attitude will get you to goal with IP.
Wishing all of the May Starters, a smooth and successful IP journey :) |
Hi again newbies....
I figured I would post a little about myself...for being 32 I feel like learning how to navigate this forum isn't very easy! I don't see my profile pic displayed and it is very irritating lol. Anyway, I live in Erie, PA and work for a textbook company designing math books. I love animals...smooshy faced especially. I have been married 3 years, my husband has a 32 inch waste and can eat whatever he wants, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. We got married in Las Vegas at the Bellagio, we do love Vegas! We have been trying to conceive for 3 years, and hoping it happens soon. Though the doctor thinks my weight isn't the issue, it will only help. I posted on a thread earlier but Target has a $10 off $30 in the nutrition section in their sunday flyer and online. I went and got some of the RTD EAS drinks and pure protein bars so that I could swap a few here and there. (Also because I tossed 3 things I hated in my start up bag). I have been sleeping like a log! I know I am finally in ketosis, and ketostix i bought tonight confirmed. Yay! |

Thanks! Much better! |
So I bought this new protein powder today from GNC called Promasil Milk Chocolate I think its in line with protocol, its just a lot higher in protein. it cost me $21.99 for 15 servings.
1 serving Equals: 100 - Cal 10 - cals from fat Total Fat - 1g Cholesterol - 10mg Sodium - 70mg Potassium - 10 mg Carbs - 0 (No fiber or sugar...so literally 0) Protein - 22g Sweetened with stevia Any input? |

Yes, Ruby is red! She's beautiful and I'm obsessed with her...lol Linda, where in Arizona are you living? I've got a second home there and go often. |

Nice me too I new to IP started last tuesday. This is my first week, first weigh in is tommorrow
|
Hi everyone! I just restarted IP this week. I had great success before - lost 20 lbs but let life and my stress get in the way so now I am back on track. I'm using a mixture of IP foods and the gluten free Evolution products, as well as a couple of the Proti-diet foods. Eventually - if/when I hit a plateau, I plan on staying away from the foods with sucralose in them. I find, with me, that foods with sucralose seemed to affect my weight loss in the past and staying away from them helped. I'm one of those people who likes to work out - especially to relieve stress, but I've also found that I really have to back off otherwise it stalls my weight loss - I think it is hormone thing and because calories are limited - it's too much on the body. Anyways - I am determined to get to maintenance. I just downloaded the Beck Diet so I can listen to it when I'm on the road. A big part of this is emotional/psychological for me so I find the material in the Beck Diet is really helpful. Alright gang - Let's do this! :)
