Does anyone feel incredibly sleepy on this diet?
Hello,
I started IP Apr 02 and in between few weeks I slept well and was energetic but lately probably for past 2 weeks I have been feeling incredibly sleepy. If I force myself to get up and start doing chores I am fine but if I had a chance I would sleep all the time. I have 8 more pounds to lose in P1 and my coach said my muscle is building and she is seeing all good things but I am not sure why I feel so sleepy. I don't feel weak rather sleepy. Does this happen to anyone? |

I think it is the body slowing the metabolism, trying to conserve energy. This is what happens with low cal diets. Try planning something in your day to rev your metabolism (just a walk may help) |
I'm just starting my third week, but feel the same. I'm pretty much over the "completely drained" feeling, and am getting peppier. I am sleeping a lot. I'm not a good sleeper, generally, so this is not necessarily a bad thing. However, I am sleeping deeply and feel the need to go back to sleep after I get up and get the kids to school. NOT good. I then feel "nappy" in the afternoon, too. I don't think that's ever happened to me on a diet before. Although I have never been on a diet quite this strict, either! I just discussed this with my coach and she said she slept more and better after she started, too, and still does.

Thanks for your responses. Atleast I now know , I am not alone.
Hopefully I will go to Phase 2 soon enough and more food will probably keep me more active. |
If you take high blood pressure medicine and start losing weight, your dose has to be adjusted. It will make you super tired until going to a lower dose.

It comes and goes with me. I'm going to try Lisa's suggestion and go for more walks! The weather is beautiful so it's a great time of year to be out and about. I also save my coffee for days that I really need it - I drink it in the afternoon so I get just enough of a lift to get me through the rest of the day.

Yes.. I am going to try walking and probably some elliptical exercise for 10 or 15 mins
