Whole Foods has grind-your-own fresh peanut butter stations in their bulk sections. It tastes better than any PB i have had and has only one ingedient: peanuts. Similar cost to natural peanut butters as well. 2.99lb

Great idea! I wonder if I would get the same results with a food processor at home...
bluegingham I think you are getting P3/P4 confused with the 1-1-1 diet where you have to eat 1 protein 1 carb 1 fat at each meal. Things are easier if you eat 'purer' foods like peanut butter - should just be peanuts, then it's pretty easy to see what carbs & fats & proteins there are. It is the whole meal you are to balance for ratios carb:fat not each item - here's an example from my diary:
My ratio for lunch was 20 (16 net) carb g to 40 fat grams - so not too bad = 1:2.5 If you look at the Laughing Cow cheese wedges you will see that there is a mix of carbs & fats, but it is just a part of what makes my total lunch which is what actually counts.
I hope that helps since you really don't want to be adding junk carbs such as extra sugars & starches without nutritional value - there are three extra sugars & two extra starches added to the 'Peanut' butter. You are paying peanut butter prices for very cheap calories added.

Just Great Stuff Peanut Butter (Only for maintenance) is AMAZING!!!!!
Its organic, non-gmo and best of all, only 45 calories for 2 tablespoons as opposed to regular peanut butter at 200 calories for 2 tablespoons. It tastes fabulous too - I brought it to work for people to try and now everyone is ordering it.... Available on Amazon.
That just great stuff peanut butter is sweetened...
Thanks, Lisa! I have bookmarked the "Foodbabe" website/link; what a great resource. The graphic comparing peanut butter & almond butter, plus the information about the powdered pb. Through the IP process, I am definitely learning how to identify FrankenFoods , much better!
I am strongly considering purchasing a Vitamix; seems like a great investment for healthy, whole food eating.
I got some Better'n Peanut Butter yesterday, before I saw this thread. It's gross. I wonder if Sprouts will exchange it? It's so gross.
I completely agree! After reading the responses, I threw my jar away w/o even opening it! I would try taking it back to Sprouts; I didn't even think of returning mine to Trader Joe's, but I should have!
I normally would toss it but I forgot something I need and it's so bad, it's the principle. I'm going to return it as a sign of protest from my taste buds.
Lesson learned, don't go to the store hungry and all diet gung-ho
The added ingredients are not good whole food choices, I would avoid peanut butter completely and choose almond butter or a real nut butter not a legume. Google peanut oil lectin. PB is banned at our house, it is truly a nasty product. It is used to induce atherosclerosis in rabbits. Being healthy is so much more than being skinny, So I would avoid IMHO.
