I don't usually check this thread as I'm so many months away from it BUT I did tonight, and there are all kinds of people maintaining that I haven't seen since we were losing together a year ago. Makes me a wee bit sad I'm not HERE now BUT gives me hope about how well this works!
I was just thinking of you LizRR last weekend -- was at a huge yard sale and kept my eye out for an "ice cream machine". I was remembering your cucumber sorbets etc..... Nice to hear all is well with you and the wee one as she was "still on the way" when I last checked in

It was a sad day when my ice cream machine broke...that thing was awesome! My sweet girl is 9mo now, and baby boy is almost 4yo in July. Still find it a challenge to hit the gym regularly but do what I can when I can. Last night my son crawled in bed at midnight, daughter woke up at 12:30, then when i came back to bed after putting her down my son had thrown up on my pillow! Quite the party...thankfully everyone seems to be healthy again.

Cucumber sorbet???!!!! Liz, you are a genius!!!

-- slams door and speeds over to the recipe threads . . . :scooter:

Lizrr: I hope both kids are feeling better. That was quite a night! I have always loved your recipes and your creativity. Cucumber sorbet does sound good.

SylviesGirl: You have an amazing weight loss! I hope your maintenance is going well.

IP43: Ip does work and I know you will reach your goal.

Hawaii69: Thanks for your kind words. IP gave me the habits and framework to maintain. I hope you are doing well.

Glad to see everyone seems to be doing well!

I'm getting over my fear that if I don't measure vegetables exactly I'm going to gain weight. I actually just threw a couple of handfuls of spinach into something the other day instead of measuring - dh says I'm turning into a rebel. :D

Had such beautiful weather this weekend - worked at the office Saturday and then spent Sunday doing the house stuff, laundry, groceries, etc., etc. Did take a few hours off to watch the ballgame. Be glad when things slow down some - probably in late September!

Ruth Ann..after months of carefully measuring vegetables, I now just eat as much as I want. I dump spinach and leftover vegetables in. I usually eyeball the two cups of lettuce or arrugula, and then starting adding. Good for you turning into a rebel.

You sound busy! I am busy trying to get exercise in while my kids are here.

Hi gals! It's good to be back, and see you all doing so well! Wow, new avatar - Ruth Ann - lookin' HAWT! lol

I was away on vacation for 5 days hiking, biking in mountain parks (Kananaskis Rockies) and a city getaway in Calgary at a Relais & Chateau boutique hotel. Mmmmm, Frette linens & towels - piles of them, and Aveda bath & beauty products, pampering in our suite with gas fireplace in a separate seating area and an amazing bed that was like sleeping on a cloud! Also a 4 diamond restaurant on site! All on the river valley with a view off our patio - sitting in the hotel robes & slippers in the sunshine drinking our coffee, reading the newspaper and Randy eating the fresh croissants from our delivered tray waiting for us when we woke up. And that was pre-breakfast, lol. I ate a lot of great ethnic food - gourmet Mexican and Indian and wonderful breakfasts including specially prepared GF eggs benedict perfectly poached with organic sage roasted potatoes and lots of fresh fruit on the side, and drank good wine and gluten free beer and still lost a 1/2 pound. Yaaay! I also won the Grand Prize in Alpine Club of Canada's open house on Sunday - a sightseeing flight for two with Alpine Helicopters - so I guess we are going East for another vacation to Canmore sometime later this year. Aren't I the spoiled gal? :cloud9:

Lol, only an IPer would understand the fear of gaining by eating too many VEGETABLES!

That sounds 1000x better than my weekend. After my sons sickness, I was the one getting sick all night. Just barely keeping down water, but the kids are 100%.

IP43 06-09-2014 10:48 PM

Ruth Ann -- I'm humming a song for you right now -- Billy Idol's "With a rebel yell, she cried "More, More, More"... (vegetables....)... It doesn't really work to the intentions of the song but my brain is having fun putting rebel you and billy idol together. Here's a trip down memory lane for all my "80s" IPeeps...

Maile - I think after a year of carefully measuring it's taking my brain awhile to get used to it. But I'm getting there!

canadjineh - welcome back and it sounds like a great vacation! I love helicopter rides, did a lot of them in the Air Force. It really is a great way to sight see.

LizRR - Yes, I knew you guys would get it! Hope you feel better soon - being sick is no fun at all.

IP43 - I am tempted to dance around the kitchen tomorrow night just throwing veggies into the pot willy-nilly and dancing to Billy Idol! And I can blame it all on you! :broc:

canadjineh 06-10-2014 02:10 AM

LizRR you poor thing, there is nothing worse than tummy sick, in my opinion. Glad the kids are over it quick, hopefully the same for you!

RuthAnn I also am a flight freak - stick me on anything that flies, whatever size and I love it. I used to have low flying dreams, swooping and soaring over the countryside, when I was little. Mum & Dad regularly took us on a Sunday drive to the international airport to watch the planes take off and land and people-watch. My first international flight was when I was 8 and we went to Italy & France to visit family & friends. My DH has worked in forest fire fighting and also loves helicopters and small planes - he's not as fond of the big commercial jets though, especially at takeoff.

Side note: I think tomorrow I will pull out the Billy Idol cassettes and see if they still work - good 80's memories, lol.:hyper::chin:

Liana - I love, love, love flying except commercial airlines. Those I tolerate - I'd much rather be up in the cockpit. I got to fly with the Thunderbirds once on one of their practice runs - that was a huge thrill!

Wow!

It was fantastic Lisa - they were in town for our annual airshow and I was editing the base newspaper at the time so they let me go up for a story. One of the highlights of my military career! And I didn't even throw up once!
