I am having a difficult time with phase 4. I am hungry if I eat anything other than eggs for breakfast. I can't figure out the fat and carb meal separation for lunch and dinner. I've been on phase four a month. I'm going to set up an advising session with my counselor. The whole thing is proving very challenging.

I don't know that it's a bad thing to be hungry after your breakfast, lots of normal weight people I know have a protein snack mid-morning just to hold them over til lunch, but perhaps this isn't quite what you mean? I tend to snack a lot on days when I'm feeling hungrier, but try to make them proteinish - I don't always succeed of course, but it evens out... when I am not having a hungry day I don't snack as much.
Try reading back through the beginning pages of the Maintenance threads for a clearer understanding of fat/carb separation. Do you have any guide sheets from your clinic about Maintenance? There are some good ones I revisit once in a while... Do you log on MyFitnessPal or similar site that helps you look at your macros like carbs in a food/meal or fat grams in a food/meal? It's pretty vital, especially until you get familiar with whether a food choice or meal choice is mainly carbs or fats.

Keep asking questions we'll try to assist as much as we can! If you can be specific or post your meals so we can have a better idea of what you mean...

Hi all, I went back down to my usual 131 the day after my P1ish post-Funday so all is good again . Haircut turned out well and hung around with my friend at the Mental Health Thrift Shop in a neighbouring town and we picked up a few bargains... New navy MEXX cotton shirtdress with a fitted top and flared skirt and a vintage St John black wool, bracelet sleeve, little boxy cardigan with a bit of loopy fringe along the edges of the neckline, zipfront and sleeves. Liana - I love wasabi almonds! Don't have them often and am careful to measure because I could seriously eat a whole can without even thinking about it.

I love cold roast beef or pork loin salad and I hardly ever make it... not sure why. Really nummy with fresh strawberries or nectarine in it, but that would be for a carb meal and not a fat one...

I am a big fan of wasabi, but have to be careful that I get the real stuff and that it has no wheat starch mixed in with it to make it into a paste. I see you had a sweetish snackies day, lol. Sounds very tasty!

Yeah, I have been incredibly "snackish" recently. Thinking it's increased activity which I do not track well. Oh well, as long as it fits what my maintenance plan is it's all good. Had a coupon for free Blue Bunny ice cream and thought I would try it (I'm a big fan of cheap!). I'm actually impressed with the flavor - better than I expected!

I have a lot of strawberries right now and I will have to do the rest of the pork loin into a salad with them. Now I know what lunch is tomorrow!

DH is getting there... chiro yesterday & tomorrow, along with ibuprofen and muscle relaxant, a suspended stretch from crutches, and ice packs, and walking every half hour. At least he took the whole week off work...

Hi maintainers,

I read you menus daily to learn and Yes I admit drool over what you are allowed to eat. Anyway I was on Pinterest tonight and found a couple of recipes on there that were posted by The Nutrition Twins. I haven't had time to totally explore their page but the two I saw seemed like they would fit into maintenance perfectly. One was a smoothie that had unsweetened almond milk, apple cider vinegar, strawberry, pineapple and I think some spinach. The other was a shirataki noodle bowl. Anyway I will explore more when I can but thought maybe someone might be interested in checking them out on Pinterest.

Jemma51, I love tofu shirataki noodles, and use them when I really want the noodle feel but it's not time for the carb meal, lol. I actually used them before IP because they are gluten free and fairly inexpensive compared to some other gf pastas. The smoothie sounds interesting, I wonder why the ACVinegar, though? I only do a smoothie if it's a protein one; usually I would rather eat my fruit - since we didn't get to in P1
I'll have to take a closer look at the Nutrition Twins site, could be some yummy ideas there...
