Liana that dinner sounds scrumptious! You always give me good ideas. Now if I ever implement any of them.....
Yesterday got kind of screwy for a variety of reasons, but I didn't do too bad. What I did do bad was leave a container of really good Greek yogurt sitting on the counter overnight. I suspect it's just fine but always hate doing stupid stuff like that.
I'd just pop that yogourt back into the fridge and eat it the next day, lol. After all yogourt is made at slightly warmer than room temperature and the desert nomads used to keep it in goatskins hanging on the sides of the camels - a bit of room temp. shouldn't hurt, lol. Then again I don't mind taking calculated food risks. I've never had food poisoning either, although DH has, twice, from fast food chicken in the States when he was younger & travelling with his family. I eat street food in foreign countries too - I say 'live dangerously' hahaha
Today's meals were fairly high in carbs, fat & calories, but I have been working out quite a lot lately and don't want to lose any more. I'm still at 131 so no probs so far. The totals for calories & carbs is still under MFP suggested, but not much I can do about that except guzzle olive oil mixed with sugar - no thanks. jk

That's exactly what I did with the yogurt! If it had been one of the fruit ones I wouldn't have tried it but since it was plain greek I figured I was safe. I'm actually going to phase out the pre-flavored yogurts for the most part and just use my own flavorings. Just have to eat up the supply.
Your dinner sounds yummy. Dh bbq'd a pork loin roast yesterday (yum!) and took a huge zucchini someone gave us and made "zucchini steaks" on the grill. I think I'm in love.
I love veg on the BBQ, Ruth Ann! Did your DH do a spice rub on the roast? or BBQ'd plain?
Last night's snack was probably not a good idea, as I was awake most of the night. I haven't had a bad sleep night for quite a while so maybe there was too much sugar and it kept me awake or at least waking up very often. I haven't had an after dinner type snack for long time so that could be it. Sleep disturbances are not uncommon in fibromyalgia though -
There are five stages of sleep, and in the course of a normal night's rest, a person will normally cycle through various stages, from light to deep to dreaming, every 90 minutes or so. Dreaming occurs during what's called REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. Interestingly, EEG (brain wave) studies have found that fibromyalgia patients lack the restorative levels of deep, non-REM sleep. It is during these deepest levels of sleep — also known as stages 3 and 4 — that the body restores and refreshes itself. Stage 3 is characterized by moderately deep sleep and stage 4, the deepest sleep phase, is when certain substances like growth hormones are released for body-tissue repair and replenishment.
Research suggests that people with fibromyalgia are constantly aroused by bursts of "awake" brain activity, which limits the amount of time they spend in these critical deep stages of sleep. "On EEG studies, fibromyalgia patients in deep-sleep stages have been found to have alpha waves, which are signs of arousal or wakening," says Patrick Wood, MD, chief medical advisor for the National Fibromyalgia Association. One study found that fibromyalgia patients experience at least twice as many arousals per hour as people without the disorder. (Quote from everydayhealth.com - the simplified story)
Up with DH at 5:30 though, since I was awake anyhow, lol. He was a happy boy, as he's been lonely in the morning (so he said) now that I've been working some night shifts. He freaked me out yesterday - I had earplugs in and didn't hear him get up at all, then when I woke up to readjust the covers, there he was standing beside the bed looking at me, holding his coffee.
Did your DH do a spice rub on the roast? or BBQ'd plain? He did a teryiaki sauce on it when it was getting close to done - was absolutely yummy.
Zucchini is what I'm trying to use up now - we have tons of it. I may shred and freeze some this weekend. Although dh has been hinting that he'd like zucchini bread,
Strangely enough, there hasn't been an overabundance of zucchini here as there usually is.... I've actually had to buy some - and it isn't that cheap at the grocery stores. Zucchini bread would probably be yummy toasted and topped with peanut or almond butter for breakfast. You could package up zucchini in a mailing tube and send it on to me, Ruth Ann, lol. The teriyaki sauce sounds delish! I like Asian style food anyhow.
This morning, after I ate a couple mouthfuls, I realized that I don't remember when I opened that box of almond milk in the fridge that I put on my cereal... DISGUSTING TASTE! I'm too cheap to waste my expensive GF cereal and blueberries, so I drained the bowl into the sink and got out a fresh box of almond milk. Good thing I eat sturdy flakes,
Liana

Your taco salad sounds delish Liana - going to have to plan that for this week. Someday I'll get dh to actually write down what he puts in the seasoning and in what amounts because I can never replicate what he does and his recipe is kind of "some of this, some of that, a little this, a little that."
The Peanut Butter Cup ice cream - mmmm, that I'd like! I'm not a huge ice cream fan usually, but I am a peanut butter cup fan.
Worked last night so no 'breakfast' at the regular time. I logged my steps last night and I did 11,000 just over my shift hours and it was a quiet one, check-in day for the vacation condos. Everyone was so tired from driving to get there, that they weren't up to causing trouble late into the night. It seemed everyone was tucked away in bed by 11:30pm or so. Except the guy who fell asleep listening to Phantom of the Opera in his boat at its slip at the end of the dock. We had to give him a little poke to wake him up as his earplugs were in and he was snoring. Kind of funny

Dinner Randy got the salad ready and barbecued the chicken breast while I went over to a friend's house and did photography for them as 16 members of her family had come out to visit. Everyone got dressed up & I set the groups up in the yard with a lovely birches & greenery background on the manicured lawn. Turned out nice, and dinner was ready when I got home. My DH likes to cook a bit but wants explicit instructions for new-to-him recipes, no 'pinch of this, dash of that,' lol.

the peanut butter cup ice cream was really excellent. If I'm going to eat ice cream (which I don't often) I want it to be really good ice cream - no point wasting calories on inferior stuff.
I hid my chocolate behind the vacumn cleaner - dh will never find it there!
