Great idea Chelle! Good luck on your IP journey!

I am on Phase 1, day # 13 - proud to say I am down 9.6 pounds and feel amazing. It almost feels like a fog has been lifted, I find myself more focused at work.. if that makes sense.

Tomorrow is my official weigh in, looking forward to seeing how many inches I lost.

MamaViv 02-03-2014 06:23 PM

Hi! I started on Jan 28th and tomorrow is my first weigh in. I have stayed on program but my meals have been very repetitive and hope that going forward I can use some of the creative menu suggestions. Love the team like encouragement of the contributors and I look forward to celebrating all of our success.:carrot:

TravelingChick 02-03-2014 06:50 PM

Started 01/25 and I had my first weigh-in today, on day nine, due to travel of course. Happy to report I lost 7.3 lbs. I ordered some different foods so hoping I do as well with the food as I have with the shakes. Exercised great discipline despite life in a hotel and my biggest temptation-all the tasty snacks and treats at a 7 hr Super Bowl party. Here is to the next 7 days. Cheers (with my piņa colada shake of course)!

Johnsdeere 02-04-2014 11:02 AM

I've got to admit, day two really sucked for me last week. I had a migraine that I couldn't get rid of, I even sipped fat free chicken broth. Day 3 I noticed a difference, I felt better and wasn't as hungry. I could tell my body was going into Ketosis. The hunger is gone...thank you baby Jesus!

Tomorrow is a week of being on IP, so far so good. I have to be honest, it is weird not being able to eat what I want. It's a matter of training yourself and getting in the habit ultimately.

Weigh in is tomorrow morning....I'm looking forward to the weightloss and what the scale as to say about this week. :)

Congrats on the weightlosses so far everyone!!

Started 2/5

I just started today. Tried Atkins but the weight loss was not consistent. Looking forward to seeing results!

eandc2006 02-05-2014 01:00 PM

Hey all. Started yesterday. Have been maintaining over a year with a week or two here and there for shaving off the unwanted lbs. Anyways, since October things have been hectic for me on a number of different levels and while I didn't go on a binge, I was not on the scale and monitoring like I need to maintain. If I had to guess, I would say I have packed on 10lbs. Anyways, haven't been on the scale (don't need to b/c my clothes are telling me I have gained) and just plan on trekking along for at least a week before jumping on the darn thing. If its one thing I have learned about myself, its that the scale can really impact my mood, motivation, and ultimately my stress as I can become obsessive. Stress is not good for losing! Better just to practice getting back in the swing of things and seeing what happens in a week or two. Here's to staying OP!

Glad to see everyone on here...these threads were a huge lifesaver for me mentally and emotionally when doing IP the first round and have continued to be when I jump back on for a period of time.

Happy Wednesday all.

Started 2/2/2014

I just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself. This is my second time following this program. I did IP 3 years ago and had success (35 lb). I since then have had another baby and gained a lot of weight during that pregnancy. I also feel my eating habits have just gotten out of control and I need some structure.

I started 2/2 (Sunday) and so far things are going good. I am trying to do this on my own and not using any of the IP products, because it is just to expensive. I have found great alternatives to use (thanks to everyone here)!

I am currently following the Alternative Plan to Phase 1 (this is also the one I followed 3 years ago) because I am still nursing. On the alternative plan you don't get into ketosis.

I am really hoping I can make this work on my own and loose this weight!

stubbornostrich 02-06-2014 11:48 AM

I started last week and am definitely a "newbie" on here. What's motivating you on your journey?

I have this dress that I LOVE, but haven't been able to wear now since gaining the weight. I have it hanging in my closet where I can see it every time I go in and that is motivating me to stay on track!

How have you're first couple of days been going?

Although I am only a week ahead of you I found day 2 and 3 the hardest because I was sooo hungry. Make sure you get the water in and don't be afraid to have that extra shake if you get hungry. 1 extra protein shake has got to be a better choice than any bad food lingering in your cabinets.

confused about this...do you not go into ketosis on the alternative plan? Can someone enlighten me. I am doing IP now with a mix of protithin and IP products. :)

I stared IP on Jan. 20th. Down 5.6 lbs since then. This week was only .6 loss. Feeling a bit discouraged. Thought I would see a bigger loss than this.

Mamaviv-

How did it go? We sort of have the same numbers in weight and height. Wondering how your WI went?! =)

IPgirl70 02-06-2014 08:33 PM

Which snacks are your favorite, I wasn't a fan of the dill pickle zippers. I find most of them too sweet, however I'm going to end up only drinking the shakes!

Thanks stubbornostrich, I literally switched from Atkins to IP so I was already in ketosis and suffered through those crappy first 3 days. I'm hoping to have more consistent weight loss/fat loss with IP. I like that my clinic has a BCA so you can make sure you are fat and maintaining muscle.

EandC, from what I've read, there is an Alternative IP plan that some with special dietary needs (diabetics?) follow throughout their clinics/coaches. Then there are those that use alternative products to follow the IP protocol. I don't know anything about the Alternative plan, but many on this forum have seen great success (& achieve ketosis) using alternative products.

Hope this helps! I'm sure someone with more experience than me can add additional details.

I love strawberry wafers (restricted)
RTD chocolate drink - mix with coffee and drink hot
Garlic chips - good but really garlicky - love to eat with pickles

luz - there are a lot of reasons you could be having slower than what you want loses. Are you getting all your protein, oil, salt, veggies and water in?

This happened to me, too. But more than 10! Now I'm back. But the first week I lost 5, so I am happy to be back.

I really feel like the scale helps keep me sooo accountable. I was very diligent about weighing everyday/every other day and when I took a hiatus, I noticed I allowed myself to indulge more than I would have. damn thing anyways.

kontesanera 02-08-2014 10:27 AM

I have day one under my belt. I am so looking forward to my first weigh in already. My clinic recommends drinking water with some chlorophyll added to it and that really takes care of that nasty taste in your mouth when your body goes into ketosis. Not that I am in ketosis as of yet, but I have been there before and I remember the metalic taste in the mouth that I had all the time. I wonder if anybody else is drinking chlorophyll water?

This about sums it up for me, too! I realized that I needed to change when I noticed that my 7 year old was developing my horrid eating behaviors. (She actually was putting a crouton on a saltine and starting to top it with ranch!)

Now both my girls are mimicking my healthy eating habits and they love it!!! :carrot::cb::broc:

Even hubs is enjoying all of the creatively cooked meals that I have discovered thanks to these awesome posts and me feeling more confident in the kitchen!

Just completed week 3

Hi - I started IP on Friday, January 17th. Second and third days were the weirdest, just as the program indicates, but when Monday came...i felt pretty good.

So far I have lost 13lbs and a total of 13 inches. Week 1: 6 lbs, Week 2: 4.5lbs, Week 3: 2.5 lbs.

The program is working really good for me. I am learning how to cook and eat much much much better and as long as i have a few different IP options to chose from each day, I don't seem to miss any other foods, get hungry often or feel blah. I was juicing for a while before starting IP, so I do kind of miss making a nice juice, but I am sure I can phase the right juice options in, maybe phase III or IV.

I am really exciting about IP - first program I have found that I actually LIKE and it works pretty easy for me. My goal is to lose 40-50 lbs.

Hi everyone and justforme2014! I just started today too! I'm so happy that I'm finally doing this, but really don't feel good today. I'm nauseous and have a headache. Tomorrow can only get better.

It will pass - might be a day or too. Drink your water, make sure you get your salt in. Hot decaf herbal tea helps a lot. If you have to, you can have an additional non restricted packet.

Hang in there - it will get better.

TravelingChick 02-10-2014 08:50 PM

Had my 2nd WI today. Lost 3.2 lbs since last Monday. I am happy but feel ridiculous to admit I am also disappointed. It is crazy really, considering I have lost 10.5 lbs since January 25th. I think it is because I lost so much in week 1, that this is a letdown. I know that most women lose a little over 2 per week, but I guess I am just impatient to lose what took me a few years to put on. My brain recognizes realistic expectations, but my heartand my mirror don't......right?

Okay, pity party is over since 3.2 lbs IS an achievement and I have definitely lost inches. Mostly in chest and waist, but none in arms and hips. I can definitely see it in my face too.

I have been very disciplined, with no cheats. My problem has been incorporating the sea salt and eating the fourth IP meal. I have had three days that I didn't do the fourth, and one day that I only got two in. I am trying to be diligent and yesterday began adding my salt to my shakes or pudding. I rarely add salt to anything, so oddly enough that is my main challenge.

I appreciate the support of everyone here and take a lot of heart from others' stories and successes. Let the transformation continue.

One of the best things I have seen that is helping me beyond the scale and my periodic weigh-ins is something another person posted on a different blog. For each pound that comes off, she visualizes a pound of butter, or more striking - an equal amount of chicken fat. And every time she laments the veggies or the IP packets, she imagines the energy they produce coursing through her blood to burn more fat. That has helped me to be as disciplined as I have been so far. Good luck!

My motivation is the fact that I am so confident in other ways, but now don't want to be in photos or see myself in them. It made me realize I got myself here and it is up to me to get myself out. I still miss pizza, though! :)

Hey all, this is week two for my husband and I. We can't weigh ourselves since we decided to take a last minute trip to Hawaii. We are staying on plan though. We bought Rtd shakes and powder and brought our bars. We won't get home till Wednesday of next week so at that point we will have gone two weeks without weighing ourselves. I'm looking forward to next Wednesday. I admit it's hard to to be in paradise and not pick the fruit but we are doing it. I'm glad we are staying in a condo where we can make our own food. I hope all is well with everyone else. Aloha from the big island!
