I DO understand... That's why I added that last little caution. It is weird... With "real world foods" with something like this I would overindulge quickly and easily. But for some reason, on IP I am able to control cravings and stay with one restricted per day and so far (knock wood) have not gone back for seconds on any day. Maybe... Just maybe, IP is helping me eat with more thoughtfulness and self-control.

But I can TOTALLY understand that the temptation of a yummy treat is, for many, better left in someone else's cupboard.

Good for you for practicing that old chestnut - "Know thyself!"

Is there an alternative for ip ready made chocolate pudding? I love the ready made, but don't want to pay the 30.00 for six.

Check Nashua Nutrition... You can search pudding. Do you have the info for checking that the alternatives match IP Protocol? (Second post on page one of this thread)

Fyi...the Proti-diet spaghettini -I didn't enjoy. It was what I assume canned pasta tastes like. The soy crumbles were oddly chewy as well. Good news is that my 16 month old liked it so it isn't a waste since I can feed it to her. I would avoid it, I walked away thinking, and that was my restricted item of the day? :(

I get the Unrestricted Fusili pasta (Proti Diet or Proti Thin, can't recall) and add sautéed vegges and 1/4 c no sugar added pasta sauce. I don't miss the meat in it and it's satisfying for the Italian craving.

OR - at dinner, I use zucchini noodles and meatballs then the veg and pasta sauce!

Ordered my second order from nashura nutrition. The ready made drinks are the same as the rm ip drinks. Also the chips are really good and I think they fall under non restricted. They don't have ready made pudding and I'm afraid to get some of the pudding mixes, because the consistency isn't like real pudding. I'm waiting to try the pancake mix. It's considered restricted right?

JLUS 05-15-2014 10:40 PM

What is the nutrition info n the chips? I have HealthSmart ones, but yet are restricted (carb count). Same question for the pancakes... Some are, some aren't.

Mcintyst 05-15-2014 11:04 PM

The nutrition for the chips are cal:130, fat:4g, carbs:14g, fiber 5g, protein:10g.
The pancakes are cal:120, fat:.5g, carbs:19g, fiber:5g, protein:12g

Chips carbs 14-5 fiber = 9 net
Pancakes carbs 19-5 fiber = 14 net

Unrestricted = net carbs 8 and under
Restricted = net carbs 9-16
Super Restricted = net carbs 17-18 (one or two per week)

Chips are a little light on protein 12 -20 IP range... I usually add a couple egg whites somewhere to go with them.

If you don't already have it, the second post in this thread has a great little concise guide for calories, fat from calories, carbs, protein when selecting alternatives!

I just placed another big order from Nashua Nutrition - I just have to say that I love all the choices! I got some unrestricted chili, oatmeal and chocolate cake! I ordered so much for only $155 plus I got an extra $15 off and free shipping! I wish I would have switched earlier - I get so many more choices because of the price - before I could only purchase 3 boxes of IP brand products, so I ate the same thing, everyday, for a week. Now there is so much more variety! Yay for alternatives!!

Ooops ... This thread has passed the magic limit of 500 posts.

Would some kind soul start the new thread?
