Suffering from the Big C for about two weeks now. It is my own fault for not getting all of my water in, but I drank extra yesterday and already drank 24 oz this morning, so I'm getting back on track and hope it helps.
Good morning! Much warmer this morning but I know some if not most of you are still suffering from extreme cold. Stay warm my friends!
I have to say, I love coming here to hear all the stories and support. I was telling my sister this morning that she should start the IP way of life with me. I will be printing her sheets and sharing with her the alternative products, I've learn from everyone here. She's always struggled and unhappy with her weight, so I hope that I can help her. I told her to research the diet here, since this is the one single forum, I've seen with so much information and support.
Hi, all! I posted this in one of the alternative threads, but thought I should share here. For my alternative peeps, Nashua Nutrition is offering 10% off ProtiDiet this week with code PD10.
Morning all, having a good day so far, realized that since my cheats over the holidays, that I was slipping - on Sunday I had 3 pieces of candy, Monday I had 3 pieces of candy and a spoonful of DH's ice cream - i had a mental slap in the face - WTF am I'm doing - and had a strong lecture to myself to cut it out. I stayed 100% on plan for 13 weeks, I'm about 4 pounds from goal and I need to just straighten up and fly right! I have my first official weigh in since Dec 21 this Sat, and expect to be 2-3 lbs from my new goal so that could mean I'd be starting phase 2 within a week or 2. I KNOW this will be a bigger trial - going through Phases 2,3 & 4 and looking at the rest of my life as a changed eater.
Coming back and reading the comments and support here just helps so much, thanks all of you!
Good morning all! Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. I have to say, I am SO glad it is Wednesday. I am really looking forward to the weekend now that so much stuff is sort of behind me work-wise. Last night was my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend.
We didn't do anything particularly interesting but it was nice to just "be" with him. Before, when I was married, it would have bothered me if no reservations were made, etc. My boyfriend and IP taught me something - be patient. Don't sweat it. It's all good, even when sometimes things aren't exactly how you would have wanted or planned. So, dinner alone with him, a run beforehand, cuddling up and balancing my checkbook - all really normal things - was great. I am grateful.

I love/hate days like that. Sometimes the days just suck but it feels liberating to say " I am done with today. " and go to bed. I do hope your day today is better.

Hang in there ecdcslim - you have been doing so well. You have it within you to finish strong and hard, 100%.
It does seem sometimes that when one is close to the goal weight that the mind does not seem to want to cooperate. Who knows what emotions may lurk behind that little challenge?
Make yourself a little calendar just for January - at the end of each successful 1oo%OP day, mark a BIG RED X through the day so that you can really see and feel your accomplishment. Put it somewhere you will see it as you pass through the house. Maybe that would help? Just an idea....

I actually made a large chart with my starting weight as the first box, all the way down to my goal weight being the last. In the beginning, the chart was daunting, seemed like so many rows! On the Day of my weigh in, I cross off the pounds lost in copper colored sharpie. Now, there are only 1.5 rows left on the whole chart. The chart is above my dresser, so I see it every day. I think it will always be a great reminder of this IP journey. Who I was and who I want to be.

Thanks Schenectady! Great idea. I just put it in the inside cover of my notebook that I carry around with me at work all day. I will start it as of today - it's a calendar and weight countdown. Thanks!
I have a recipe for Garlicky Kale from Whole Foods (which I LOVE) but I think it might too many carbs, even though I can't figure out why. MyfitnessPal says 1 cup has 19 Carbs. The ingredients are:
1 bunch raw kale, washed, de-stemmed and dried (7 carbs/cup)
2 Tablespoons tahini
2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or water)
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons Bragg’s liquid aminos
4 Tablespoons nutritional yeast
2 teaspoons minced garlic (1 – 2 cloves of garlic)
What do you think would be in this that gives it 19 carbs per serving?

I was surprised how high carb Kale is, since it is a leafy green (and remember how much it cooks down! We measure those veggies RAW, not cooked)
As for other ingredients, garlic has carbs, too.
Tahini and nutritional yeast would not be allowed on Phase 1
It is definitely something to look forward to.
RE: Aminos
I use them whenever I would have used soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
