I could use a few words of support!!

There are donuts in the break room at work and I have avoided them like the plague but I can't stop thinking about them! This is nuts. I could really use some motivation right now! :(

Don't do it. Not worth it for the momentary satisfaction.

You are stronger than donuts!

IdealProteinNewbie 01-02-2014 07:25 PM

PS. Just think of how germy they are. People don't wash their hands then touch all of them :D

Ishbel 01-02-2014 07:34 PM

Flexing your will power mental muscle will help it get stronger and stronger. Eventually you'll know you don't need the donut you just want them and there is a difference. Don't sacrifice long term goals for short term satisfaction. Give the donuts a finger and walk away to show them that they don't have any power over you and you are now in control.

You can do it!

:dust::dust::dust: Repeat after me...Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. Taste lasts only a few seconds...it's not worth it!!!

Good luck!!!

Sashadee, just remember how great you felt stepping on that scale and seeing the number going down. Is that 2 minutes of flavor worth seeing the scale numbers go up?

100 sips of water will keep your mind off the donut and your belly full!

Sashadee 01-02-2014 07:48 PM

Thanks everyone, all of this is definitely helping!

P.s - This made me LOL.

You can do it! I am having the same issues so am glad you posted this! Everyone's comments are great! It really isn't worth it. And these last few days will be for nothing.

I imagine the doughnuts tasting like hardened shortening. That's pretty much what they are. I envision the waxy taste in my mouth after I coat my teeth with all that shortening. And then suddenly that doughnut doesn't sound so good after all.

^ Ooooh... this is a good one. ^

Sarah, Thankfully the craving passed! But it was really touch and go for about an hour! :carrot:

For situations like this, there is no decision to be made as you already decided when you chose Ideal Protein. Just move on from there and remind yourself that you've already made that decision. Also, you going to let a donut f@*# you up like that??? :)

Where's the like button????

I always ask myself - who is in control here, me or the food? Or just eat a dill pickle spear - that always kills any sugar cravings I have for some reason.

Both of these statements are so great Ishbel. Applicable to a lot of things in life :)

I know that the long term /short term issue is one I've struggled with in the past...instant gratification is so easy. Thankfully IP and this forum have helped me with strategies to combat that.

I may post these on my fridge!

There is always food in our office - donuts 2 times this week. I echo everyone else's statements. A couple other nuggets that I use: 1) I haven't had anything to eat like that for 6 months, if I eat it it will probably make me sick to my stomach - so not worth it; and 3) is that little crap donut worth a weeks worth of food? It might kick me out of ketosis and then it could take a week to get back in and there I have wasted a week of food and the money I paid for that food is down the drain.

We all do what we can to keep the willpower going. Every day that you keep OP is reinforcing your will power. I have found that my willpower is pretty iron clad right now. I hope it stays that way. :)
