Carol - you're a lot like me. I was really concerned when I booked my holiday - despite really, really wanting to go away - about what to do with IP. I knew there was no way that I would stay OP while in Mexico but I was nervous about phasing off.
I talked it over with my coach and decided between the two of us that a slow phase off would work better for me so I opted to do 2 weeks of P2, 2 weeks of P3 and I'll have almost 2 weeks of P4/Maintenance before I leave. I just started P3 this morning. I still lost while on P2 and I know some people do lose while on P3, I'm not sure if I will be one of those lucky ones though
But, with a slow phase off, I'm prepared for a gain. I'm still meeting with my coach once a week and doing a WI and I have an appointment booked for the day after I come back for a restart on P1 to lose the last 25ish lbs. (Wow, that number seems amazing to me!)
I read - a lot. About phasing off, about the different phases and what they accomplish and meal ideas. And I think the last one is the really important one - and one that makes me feel better - meal planning is key when phasing off. If you have a plan, you're less likely to make bad choices. Which I guess is true in all phases.
Just keep reading and asking questions. The wonderful people on the maintenance thread have some great advice and tips on things that have worked for them. And most of all, look at what you've accomplished so far - you can do this too
