Restricted Brownie vs. Homemade IP Brownie

  • I have heard you all talk about the Restricted Brownie, which by the picture, looks delicious! (But looks can be deceiving! )

I have also seen the recipes where you mix a Chocolate Drink packet and a Chocolate pudding packet, egg white, etc. and bake it to end up making 2 brownies out of it which are non-restricted.

Has anyone tried both and which one tastes better?
  • The brownie recipe is definitely on my list to try, but I LOVE the restricted brownie. Have it just about every morning for breakfast (I try to have my restricted items earlier in the day because of the higher calories, fat and carbs...not an IP requirement, just a personal rule). I suggest trying the restricted brownie if you haven't had it yet! YUM!

Nope I have not had either yet! Some things *look* good, but when you taste them it's like "Eww... no.." Especially the chocolate things that aren't really chocolate. I LOVE brownies so I really hope the restricted one does taste good! In my mind, I picture it tasting like those Hostess Brownie Bites LOL Although those may actually taste way better than the IP brownie haha
  • The brownie is delicious! It is my understanding though that you can only have it once a week

That is the new Raspberry Chocolaty bar. It is to replace 1 restricted item per week.
  • I haven't been told anything about the brownie being super restricted...I even ordered an entire box one week and my coach didn't question me on it...which she ALWAYS questions if I order too many restricteds or too many jellos for the week.

On a side note, I put a little WF whipped peanut butter on my brownie and it was AWESOME. I know most people don't love the peanut butter (it's not my favorite either), but it's good if you put it on something and don't eat it plain. I've tried it on celery too. Not the same as regular PB, but it did the trick.

so does it taste like natural peanut butter?
I have been curious about it - but havent bought it because there are so many wf things that taste like chemicals...
  • It doesn't taste like natural peanut butter. The only way I can think of to describe it is this...if you eat it plain it doesn't really taste like anything. If you eat in in/with something it gives whatever you are eating a slight PB flavor. Seen some recipes with chicken where they add the PB for an Asian dish. I definitely recommend the whipped over the regular. Texture seems to be a bit better.

    Thanks!
maybe will try it if my clinic ever gets the brownies back in
