Hi. Just started this crazy diet on 10/7. Down 8.4 pounds with no slips. My biggest struggle is choking down all the required IP food, in addition to the veggies, protein and lettuce. More food than I typically have time to eat during the day. Missed a few of the items over the last few days and gained .6 pounds. WTH! Anyone else having a problem eating all that is required? :p

Hi I just started the IP diet and so far so good!!! I lost 8.8 pounds my first week!!!! :carrot:

I started on 10/7 too! I'm down 11 lbs but have definitely had a few slips....our secretary keeps a bowl of delicious candy in the office and it can be hard to resist just one little fun size snickers!
As far as the food goes, I have had trouble eating it all too. I have found that 8 oz of meat plus 2 cups of veggies at dinner time is A LOT of food and I don't always feel hungry enough to eat it all at once. I drink the vanilla drink mix in my coffee every morning as my breakfast and that has worked really well so far because then I am not hungry until 10:30/11am. Fitting 2 cups of veggies in for lunch can be a challenge because I am not always in the mood for a salad and can't cook at work. I am also not a soup fan so I tend to use my soup mixes as sauces for my veggies - like 2 cups of broccoli microwave-steemed with the broccoli cheese soup as a sauce. I have increased my veggie variety though and that helps; like instead of 2 cups of one thing or a cup each of two things, I'll do 1 cup of kale, 1/2 cup of mushrooms, and 1/2 cup broccoli to keep my meal interesting. I prep my veggies on the weekend for the week (chop, par-cook, measure out, etc.) which keeps me from feeling like I can't figure out what to eat. My friend who has done IP before and is back on a restart is my unofficial "coach" so I am doing my own weigh ins. I also find that I split some of the IP foods up and feel fine; I haven't noticed a change in my losses. I mean, for my evening snack sometimes I'll pour about half of the RTD mango drink into a glass, add mineral/sparkling water and drink that and feel perfectly full. |

I was going to recommend pureed veggies in soup but since you're not a soup fan, you can puree raw spinach in a chocolate smoothie (can't taste the spinach but it "greens it up" a bit). I put 2 c. cooked, pureed veggies into IP soups for lunch for MONTHS. I didn't cook at work either. I took it in a thermos. You can also make muffins with zucchini. See Recipe #4 thread (link in the daily chat). I cook/puree rhubarb. Add plain gelatin & some red mio to sweeten it. Let it gel. I usually do 6-8 c. at once. I pour into 6-8 single-serving dishes. Of course the pureed rhubarb doesn't end up a whole cup so you can actually eat 2 servings, if you want. It is a nice sweet treat AND it is a veggie! Then whatever veggie you have on the side with dinner & you've got your 4 c. for the day. |
All I know is, either I have packed on some blubber for the winter, or all my fall clothes have somehow shrunk since last year and if I don't start dropping some poundage pronto, I'm going to look pretty silly wearing maternity wear from 17 years ago. An darn it. I could use a drink!
