It is crazy how Doctor's just want to keep the system circulating and ensure that they are giving each other "business" via referrals which brings them more $$$ and doesn't necessarily bring the patient (Us) back to health (i.e., meds, chiropractor, PT, Therapists, etc., etc.)..
Not too long ago did I go for my annual and I told my Doctor I was taking July to really re-commit to WW. I asked her about IP and she said: "Don't think about doing that program, it's not the healthy way to lose weight." Even when I nearly cried to her that I was continuing to gain weight from what she prescribed! She and others (friends) drilled into me that IP was No Good, but then I did my own IP research via friends and 3FC and voila, 18-AUG, here I am and the rest is history. Thank goodness I have a mind of my own and didn't completely listen to the others.. I need to do what is best for me, we all do, right?! I have never felt better and more confident about a program / life-style. It's pretty magical. I'm still in Phase I AND, I intend to learn from all of the phases so that I Phase off properly and maintain properly. I gotta continue to keep myself in check otherwise, it's easy to fall of the wagon. :mag: I know what I want and I just need to continue to keep that top of mind, no matter what the scale reads each week. Thanks again!

Not humor, but I had to respond
Please remember a few points:doctors only know what they've learned in school and advanced training.
Typical Med school curriculum doesn't even have ONE COURSE in nutrition. Yet they act like experts when treating patients
Advanced training (conferences/workshops) are typically funded by Pharmaceutical companies. What do you think THEY teach??
Additionally, more and more I'm hearing that health insurance companies are requiring certain treatments for certain issues, tying Dr compensation to the required treatment. There is a lot of money in keeping people sick.
Dietitians and nutritionists' training is no better. A lot of their training is funded by the food industry (including the research they study).
I'm not dissing any of these people there is certainly a place for them. But not in returning me to optimal health. Healthy foods and learning to stay away from processed food (which is big biz) and weaning off of pharmaceuticals (more big biz) that were just masking symptoms, instead of fixing chronic problems.
I do a LOT of home cooking now and have built relationships with small farmers.
