I use my fitness pal and have never eaten more than 900 calories, most if the time 600 to 700. My carb count is usually around 30 net, or less. I follow protocol but even with that my calories are so low shouldn't I be loosing.

I am so annoid with the last few weeks I haven't even updated my ticker!! Ugh!!

I don't know what your ticker says now, but our stats are very close. I consistently eat 800 - 900 calories per day, unless I work out, then I bump to up to 1100. I have had slower 1 lb weeks but I still have 3 lb weeks, too. If you are still close to 200, I would try adding calories, something as easy as eating more protein at lunch or dinner, or adding more fat such as an extra egg yolk or olive oil. I eat at least one extra HB egg or can of tuna every day.

I think most IP dieters on this board are eating more calories (750-900) than you. The protocol is meant to take all the guesswork out of the diet, but it's also working on averages, since you can make your daily packet calorie total anywhere from 240 - 500 calories. Adding some calories won't make you gain.

A lot of things may slow you down...stress hormones, lady hormones, exercise...if you are feeling good on IP I would try enjoy the process and put a positive spin on it. I give myself a good peptalk every morning about IP, not "I won't cheat" but a "my body loves all the veggies and lean protein it's getting" kind of thing. I know from experience that frustration with any kind of plan (diet, exercise, project at work) doesn't help the process.

Sending good vibes your way....:flow2:

I have a question about exercise and ketosis. We are not supposed to exercise because there is no glycogen for our muscles to burn on phase 1.

I was just told to not exercise during the 1st 2 weeks of phase 1. Walking has been encouraged by my coach.

Good morning all. Nothing specific to write about but am checking in. Trying to figure out what yummy IP recipe to make for my boyfriend and I for dinner this evening. Any thoughts?

I have fallen in love with Rainbowsmiles Confetti Chicken Salad. It has jicama and curry. VERY tasty! I just put it on a bed of lettuce. I'm a vegetarian so I use soy "chicken", but I would imagine real chicken would taste the same.

I like shrimp scampi, which is super easy...olive oil, red pepper flakes and garlic. I also cook shrimp with garlic and a can of diced tomatoes with chilis. My DH actually told me he's done with seafood for a while. I make it often because it is so fast to cook from frozen.

My dinner tonight is turkey cutlets sauteed in olive oil and spices.

My stats are very close to you still, I am about 204 right now. I am just a little at the end of my rope. I am not going to start eating or go crazy but I am going to try different things.
I am going to take Lisa's advice and get my thyroid checked but in the meen time I am going to experiment. I may add some protien or a little fat.

What I can't stand is my couch thinks I am cheating, as if that is the only explanation. Drives me NUTS!!!!

on my 6th week and I've been 100% but gained 2 lbs. I know it's probably hormonal or just my body resisting but it's still hard to take!

Yum! That sounds like a good idea actually. It is a little chilly here in SF and so that might be a good option for us.

I have never heard of this recipe so I am going to look it up! Thanks!

Yum and yum! I had fresh (!!!) halibut the other day after scuba diving (I didn't catch it but bought it from a local fish market) and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hi :) I have been off of IP for about a week, I am happy with where I am size-wise and am doing P90X to tone up. I am so happy to see many of you still progressing and excited for the new people.

Sarita- new pic is great! And I used to make crab legs and cajun shrimp when it was a "special" occasion on IP.

Thank you all so much for your support and I'll continue to check in from time to time. :)

Hello Everyone!

I'm so excited to find an active group of people faithfully following the Ideal Protein program.

I'm in the 7th week of IP (in Phase 1) and have had a few stalls during the last 3 weeks. The stalls haven't bothered me much though, because I've lost 2 pant sizes - 5" just around my hips since starting the program on July 18, 2013.

Thank you lisa32989 for posting the newbie info.

Today is the first day I am not really hungry on the program, it's day 10 for me.. I am only going to go with two packages and not the restricted, I am not sure I even want the second package but I will..as I know I need to get enough calories in..

You should still have 3 packs. If not the restricted, have another unrestricted.
IP is 3 packs/day, one of which is restricted.
You have to drink water anyway. Just have an orange drink or pink lemonade (least cals/carbs)

I noticed a lot of people stalling this week. :( I have lost nothing for the past two weeks and have been 100% on plan. I tend to get in a rut and eat the same thing at the same time of day every single day. I've started switching around my meal and snack times and am eating restricted items only every other day now. Scale seems to be moving again. Hoping to confuse my body into losing weight. :)
