Welcome to IP! I'm on my 6th day and loving it so far. I go to a physical therapy place, so not really a clinic. But, I feel as long as it's the real deal, and I'm following the IP protocol, I'm good. I actually weighed in already once, but that's because I want my WI day to be Thursdays. I was so shocked when I had already lost 4.2 lbs in 3 days on the program. I don't look at myself as being very big. Definitely NEED to lose weight, but thought since I only have 20-30 lbs to lose, I wouldn't lose as fast as others. I was WRONG! Now, I wish I had done this sooner.

About my goal weight. I originally told her I want to be 122-125 (breathing room of 130). After she checked my body fat %, she told me I might not want to go that low. I have almost 100 lbs of lean body mass!!! :cheer3: I'm thrilled about that number. I already look muscular, so I'm hoping it will be more pronounced after the layer of fat is gone!

You're at the right place. Also, if you like Facebook, there is an Ideal Protein Recipe page. It's not just recipes. It's good, too.

Good luck when you start! But, why are you waiting a few weeks? Just think of the weight you would lose in those weeks, if you start this week! :D

Welcome, everyone!

From what I've read, every clinic is different. I go to a naturopathic clinic. This one does not measure body fat, and only has an analog scale (so I do not know what my weight is to the 10th of a lb. - it's rounded off in half lb increments). They also didn't take my measurements until after I was already a week into the diet, so I'm not sure what my starting measurements were. I go in once a week where I get weighed and measured, and we go over any issues I'm having, as well as plan my meals for the next week. I also purchase my packets for the week at that time. Sounds like some people are getting much better service than I am, probably for the same amount of money (or less). But the diet is working, and it is comforting to know that my progress and health are being monitored by a professional. So, for now, I intend to stay put. After a couple more months, I may be more apt to consider switching to alternatives for financial reasons.

Welcome to everyone that is starting on this great protocol. My coach is through a chiropractic office so as long as they are representing the program well there is no worries to have. I am in my third week, started July 15th and the results are amazing ! Good luck to all the newbies and congratulations for wanting to change your lives !

Hi everybody! I'm new here too. Started IP on June 25th and I'm down 17.5lbs. Still have a long way to go - goal is 88lbs - but I feel great and I actually got to donate a bunch of clothes that don't fit me anymore, the best feeling ever!

I just started to read some posts and the recipes and so far, this seems like a great place - glad I found it!

Good Morning and welcome!

I am on my 11th week. My 12th weight in is on Wednesday. So far, I'm down about 36lbs! A dress size is about 12lbs (although the W's are more like 24:) I spent almost 2 hours getting dressed this morning because I had a hard time finding work clothes that fit. All of my pants looked like they swallowed me. I starting wearing a tight 18W or ok fitting 20W. I am now down to a solid 16. My 18s are loose and 18W's are too big. I have to go through my closet this weekend and eliminate some of the stuff that's entirely too big (all of the 20W's).

I'm thrilled by my progress. I hope to loose another 25-30lbs in the next 10 weeks. I am going on a trip to Jamaica and thanks to this forum I will do phase 2 for one week and phase 3 for one week. Go to Jamacia for a week and then jump right back on the plan until Christmas. Hopefully, I will reach my goal by then:)

Again, welcome!! Starting IP is a great choice:)

3+ Weeks in and a Decision to Make

Hi All! I'm a little late to the party, but I'm here now. I've really been enjoying these IP message boards. I've been on IP for almost a month - started July 10th. To date I've lost 10.5 lbs and 2 inches each off bust, waist arms and hips. I'm SO very excited.

My energy level has been great. I finally stopped drinking Diet Pepsi, something I thought I would never be able to do. It has also made a world of difference.

My son is getting married Labor Day weekend and I have to make a decision whether to phase out now so I'm ready to sip champagne and eat cake or stick with the program through the wedding. I would go back to protocol after the wedding. I'm only 1/2 to 1/3 of the way to goal weight.

The weight loss and way I feel now are so addicting, I really think I'd rather stay on protocol over the 3 days of the event. I know it's easy to say that now without all the temptation of the festivities. If I stay on IP I know I won't cheat. SO it's decision time now with no turning back.

Thoughts?
