newbie here
Hi all!
I'm new to the site and to Ideal Protein. Ive been on it for a few days now and find the hardest adjustment the lack of creamer in my coffee... any suggestions? Would love any tips, tricks, or success stories you guys have for added encouragement. Hope you all have a great day!! :) |
I used to love all of the flavored creamers too. In fact, I thought I may as well just give up coffee because I could not imagine it without. A friend put me onto the Torani SF flavored syrups so now I use a shot of white choc or French vanilla in my coffee instead. They are super cheap off of Amazon too. :carrot:

sounds yummy but
i think my coach said sf flavored syrups (other than wf) were not allowed:(

Good Luck!! I just started last Friday!

chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Yum and 4 for about 5 bucks, but that depends where you buy them. I buy at Walmart! they are 100 calories total fat- 2.5 carbs- 3 sugar 0 protein 17 grams.. i use it through out the day... or sometimes just use it for coffee and it will last about 3-4 days. |
I have been using 1 oz of the ready made vanilla drink in my coffee every morning with 2 packs of splenda and I was addicted to SF French Vanilla Coffemate :)
|
After a week or 2 black coffee became normal to me. I had always put a fair amount of milk in my coffee before IP. I would try to adjust. Giving up some sort of creamer is very minor compared to everything else you are going without now.

keep the great suggestions coming guys! I really love the positive attitudes on here, its really motivational! How much weight should I expect to lose the first month? I know all bodies are different but just an estimate... thanks again!!!

I also am using the RTD in my coffee....with okay-ish results....i've tried the torani SF stuff...but im not big on flavoured coffee....was always just happy with cream (my coach is a firm believer in 0/0/0 rule...if its 0/0/0 its okay per her)....
i actually emailed ideal protein's officer in Qc yesterday to inform them they are missing out on a alot of money by not offering a coffee creamer replacement of some kind...it would be something, if it were done well, i'd use forever. |
HMmm so i've been really plagued by my coffee problem, as i mentioned above the RTD vanilla wasn't doing it for me...
My IP coach says anything 0/0/0 is fine....hmm so i was out at the store and looking at the cream (one of the girls at work said she used fat free creamer all the way through without problems)....Fat Free Cream actually has more sugar and carbs that just regular 1/2 and 1/2...so that was out....reg. 1/2&1/2 has like 1 carb and 1 sugar per severing....then i looked at the Heavy Cream (many ketogenic diets are okay with full fat dairy products, which is why i looked)....while i know IP protocol doesn't like diary, nor does it promote high fat esp in p1....heavy cream is 0/0/0 with 50 cals.... the taste is pretty good...the question is...am i going to mess myself up if i use it in my morning coffee.? any thoughts from the ppl who've done this way longer than myself? |
I mix my chocolate shake with my coffee for a great breakfast mocha

Never asked my coach about the SF syrups, I use Disani?? I also use the EAS Advantage Carb Control drinks and have never had an issue.
I also loved flavored creamers but now also am content with a splash of skim milk. |

Maybe I would have lost faster if I hadn't? I don't know. I was a 2-3x per day starbucks (venti caramel machiatos) drinker, and I had a HARD time adjusting to no starbucks. This was a good compromise in my opinion, and my coach was fine with it. |
