Question: Measuring?

Does your coach measure you every week? I have only been measured when I started and then one time since. I noticed a lot of people posting that they had lost inches, even if they had a lower pound loss. Is this just a difference in clinics or a problem with my coach? I would like to see if I am losing inches, but when I mentioned it she said it wasn't worth doing every week (?!?!).

Just wondering what everyone else thinks?

(also I would measure at home, but she told me not to measure or weigh at home since it can be "crazy-making"- her words).

I think you are entitled to have this done...it's not someone else's call...on weeks my losses were less than previous scale readings the inches were not only significant in telling my progress...they psychologically kept me going. In the beginning I lost pounds slowly compared to what I was reading on here.....but lost inches for the first 3-4 weeks at a rapid pace. I've said, early on I did not appreciate that...!!You need to make your preference known. It appears that coach is not interested in helping you stay motivated. Part of this process is appreciating the NSVs that add up to rounding out your weight loss. Comments/compliments...clothes getting too big...knowing you are gaining self control...and yes...your shape is changing!!!

my coach weighed & measured me every week. The weeks I didn't have significant weight loss, she would note the measurements going down. It made us both feel good.

I never weighed or measured myself @ home while in Phase I, b/c to me going to the clinic was like a game show...very exciting to see what happened that week.

So, I think you can explain to her that this is important to you and you need that feedback weekly.

Every WI visit: weighed on biometric scale and measured with measuring tape.

I would ask them to measure you with a measuring tape. You're PAYING for them to be your coaches and that includes providing you with everything that is necessary to keep you motivated. Print this out and explain how this is essential to your success! http://www.idealweightfairbanks.com/progress_charts.pdf

Thanks so much for all the replies. I will try asking her again and be more direct about it, or I will just do it at home with the sheet that MariaGW sent. I am not very happy with my coaching thus far, so this is just one more thing to add to the list I need to talk to her about next week. Thanks!

You aren't the first person unhappy with a coach. Why do you think so many on this forum use IP alternatives & no coach? Slly to pay for a service you're not really getting & that's what you pay for with the overpriced products
