ITG Plan

Morning Everyone,

I have been trying to use alternatives on this plan to save some money. I had been purchasing Ideal Protein food from Pure Protein, but they have switched to the ITG Plan and associated products. The nutritional information seems in line with the Ideal Protein products. I've been reading through the alternative threads, but I haven't seen these products mentioned anywhere?

Is there any informaiton I am missing - are these suitable alternative products?

Thanks!

I think you meant Plain Protein? Pure Protein is a brand sold in stores

Anyway, I'm guessing this is a "house brand," which basically means it is another brand, relabeled. I believe Scorbett found a brand at her local store that was a re-labeled Box (identical ingredients) to one sold by Nashua Nutrtion.

There must be a company creating "house brands" by printing different boxes for folks.

I just Googled it. The pictures of the food look like Proti-Diet foods but are about twice the cost as from Nashua Nutrition.

Yep - Plain Protein has turned into a giant rip-off.

The manufacturer that makes the foods does private labeling - meaning it's the exact same product, but a brand can pay to have their individual brand name put on the box. Proti Diet does it, Nashua does it, Weight Loss Systems....at my local nutrition store they are called Balanced Protein but it's exactly the same. Even IP does it! The Proti Diet white cheddar crisps are identical to the IP white cheddar crisps, right down to the silver space packaging :)

If you can find a local store that sells bariatric products, they may also carry the foods that are comparable to IP foods - otherwise Nashua is still the best value on the web :)

Exactly! That's why I was so insistent about it awhile ago...I didn't want to see anybody being ripped off.

It's such a shame too, because it used to be a valuable resource for IP foods without going through the clinics - now it's just another scam artist.

Would you still purchase the supplements from there or is there an alternative for getting those also.. even though I may do some alternative products, I have been trying to stick with the IP supplements.

Thanks for all the advice. I want to do alternatives, but I'm nervous I am going to screw it up. I'll have to keep referring back to the alternative threads to get advice.

Don't be nervous! I do about 50% IP and 50% Alternatives and down 109 pounds so far.

Stick to the guidelines listed in the threads and you'll be fine!

ITG seems to have revamped their website and introduced their own 'plan'. They offer the packets for sale but don't give an outline of their plan unless you join the diet, which provides 'phone counseling once a week' and that is quite costly - more costly than IP in the long run because you have to drop a few hundred bucks every 10 weeks to continue the counseling. Can you say rip-off???

I am new to this site and new to Ideal Protein so apologize if I am posting this in the wrong location - just can't quite figure out how to post a new thread!

I am going to try and follow the IP regimen using alternative products - just can't afford to buy the IP products right now.

Can anyone recommend replacement supplements? I would appreciate specific brand info if possible. Thanks.

dk8258 06-24-2013 02:25 PM

I don't know if it includes a specific name, but this thread will give you more information on supplements. I'm going to attempt to attached below. If it doesn't like, I just typed supplements into the search feature and looked for all posts/threads that included it.

I'm not sure what you are talking about I joined the ITG Diet and all they charge me is for the food. The counseling/check-ins come with it for no cost. There are no fees or anything like that I just pay for the food and utilize the coach given to me.

I still purchase my Cal-Mags from Plain Protein (I MIGHT start getting them from the Vitamin Shoppe also), but I buy my own multi-vitamin, I also take vitamin D every day, and get my Potassium Citrate from the Vitamin Shoppe online.
I've been using alternatives (specifically Proti-Diet items) since I was six weeks in and have managed to lose over 60 lbs. Let me tell you, if I can do it, ANYONE can. LOL

I am a successful ITG Diet Plan member also and have loved the FREE support and coaching that I get whether I email or call the office. They only charged me for the food and supplements...not for a consult or any coaching. I know I could find the foods for less $ elsewhere but I really needed the support...I have been dieting off and on for the last 25 years and it was obvious that I needed outside intervention! lol. Paying the extra $ makes me more compliant..I don't want to waste money that's for sure! Best of luck to everyone no matter which plan you follow! The science is the same for many diet plans it seems...the doctor who replaced my knees is glad I found a way to get some weight off. I can actually jog again..

I feel the same way. I do my weekly check-in online and they have a coach contact me every week so it helps me stay motivated and compliant. Glad to see another doing the same thing as me! Best of luck to you!

Hi my name is Pearl Chiarenza and I am the owner of Bodyworks Health & Wellness Center. We have switched from IP to ITG and offer in house coaching or phone coaching as well. If you are a current IP dieter we do not charge to switch over to us other than completing a Health Profile and documentation showing you have been on IP (a receipt showing your start up was paid works or we can talk about other verification methods). We do not charge for phone coaching and our food cost includes the shipping of your food to you. We offer 10% off for our phone coaching clients making the cost 3.73 per package. Our website is bodyworkshwc.com. You can also email me at [email protected] with questions. The ITG company has many varieties of food and many more are coming.

Thanks for your time,
Pearl

I have been on ITG for 3 months and lost 10 pounds.
Here it is I just visited Nashua Nutrition, their prices are 50% less than the ITG site for exact same products. itg is too expensive. I am an athlete and they recommend 5-6 products a day for me instead of 3....that's a lot of money!

My coach is also free but I know others pay for coaching.

Right now I'm ordering every week and with $20+ shipping and product spending $200+ a week.
I don't find that sustainable!

I do love the products like the pancakes. Hint for filling meal:
1 pancake packet
2 egg whites
2 tablespoons of water
Grille In skillet
Walden farms syrup....which again you can get on Amazon for less.

Delicious meal!

Thank you for sharing NN site for their products for less! That's more sustainable!
