Does anyone over 40 use any of the Quest bars as...

Non- restrictive? And still loses the same? Happy Saturday!

accgy 06-08-2013 10:51 AM

I'm not over 40 but I use them as restricted

dukeofllano 06-08-2013 11:03 AM

Im 45 and LOVE my Quest bars... but use them as a restricted, and then only twice a week. Too yummy and tempting and are down the hatch pretty fast!

lisa32989 06-08-2013 11:24 AM

I'm not really sure what being over 40 has to do with it???
Lowest quest bar is 160 cals
I count as restricted
There's a big thread I'd link to if I wasn't on my phone

laloli 06-08-2013 12:02 PM

Thanks ladies! Guess I was living in a dream world:-)

I've seen a few posters using as unrestricted, I believe on the thread you referenced, and they looked a lot younger than me. At 46, my body does not respond like it used to. That's why I posted the age stipulation. Thanks for your help!

ZOMBIEDAWN 06-08-2013 12:14 PM

I use the apple pie as an unrestricted. I'm 36. The calories seem a bit high, but my cals are coming in on the low side at the end of the day.

Divadani13 06-08-2013 01:14 PM

I'm 41 and I eat one every day...

...and my 3rd week doesn't end until Monday and I've managed to lose 14 pounds (-8.4, -3, -2.6 so far this week - I weigh every day). They seem to be OK for me, which is awesome because that cookie dough one is delicious.

snickers70 06-08-2013 02:13 PM

I am 42 and eat one everyday also...

DRegan 06-08-2013 02:25 PM

I have one almost every day also.
But I dont eat any over 170 calories.
Might try the cookie dough for a treat sometime, but thinks its 200.:dizzy:
Cinnamon Roll and Strawberry cheesecake are my favs!

D:)

Oh, this would make me so happy! :carrot: But alas, you are but a babe. :-):-) I may try though, and keep a close watch:-)

laloli 06-08-2013 02:29 PM

I don't know how to do the multi- quote, but you ladies who have one everyday, I'm assuming it's your restricted...?

Yes it was my restricted.
I've been in maintenance for a month now and sometimes if
I'm in a hurry in the morning, I've even had 2 in a day and it
doesnt affect the scale. And I'm 48, LOL!!
Lots of fiber in those bars, LOL!:dizzy:

D

snickers70 06-08-2013 02:49 PM

most of the time I keep it my restricted.. there are some days I don't....

M35A2 06-08-2013 03:25 PM

Here's the main Quest Bars thread.

If anyone has a newer "code" for shipping please post it there.

We typically buy 4 boxes a month from them directly and if you set up an automatic order you get 10% off. They're much fresher from the website than what you can get at GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe.

Quest Bars at GNC - Just got back from there and they are having a Buy Three Get One Free sale. It's supposed to go until June 24, but was told corporate often pulls specials early. Probably better to get them now!

I had my first Quest, chocolate chip cookie dough, and will definitely limit those to a special treat. Got some others that I will use as restricted some days. I know they are fresher on the website, but I put it in the micro for 12or so seconds and it was just like a warm, melty chocolate chip cookie from the oven! Mmmmmm!!!!

Also, they are giving their Gold Membership out for FREE right now (1 year). They have changed it and you no longer have to shop on certaind days. You can get 10% off any time. (Did't ask about using it on line).

I am 65 and used them as my restricted. They are very good because they are high in fibre which IP is very low in.

Cindy56 06-09-2013 11:26 AM

I'm 56, in maintenance, and I used 1 or 2 Quest bars daily as unrestricted and they did not affect my losses. I did, however, stick to those with lower calories and fat. I love the lemon cream pie, also chocolate brownie and strawberry cheesecake. The coconut cashew bars are to die for, but too high to be P1 compliant. They are higher in calories than most IP products so you'll have to monitor your own individual results with them. Good luck!

laloli 06-09-2013 12:14 PM

Thank you!

I sooo appreciate your feedback. I'm so encouraged that you guys had good losses. I know we all are different, but encouraged indeed! We'll see! :-) Thank again!

Cindy, your weight loss is awesome. Just wondering how long it took you to lose. Did you regain any in maintenance? The caloric intake is so low in P1, I wonder sometimes if I'm setting myself up...

Lol, I'll take that! I have eaten at least one of these, if not 2, every day as well and I've lost weight at a steady pace.

workingit50 06-09-2013 09:15 PM

I count as restricted. I CRAVE them. Have taken the Cookie Dough out of my order, just want to keep eating them. Really like the Vanilla...

Great new because I just bought a bunch if these to try then I got nervous that they would be off plan. Thanks

Thanks! It took me about 5 months. For me, the key was to stick to the program 100%, then continue to limit carbs in maintenance. I eat now healthy carbs (fruit, veggies, a little brown rice, no processed grains like bread or pasta). I really haven't gained in maintenance because I know that for me junk food, bread, pasta will all cause carb cravings that I can't control. Best of luck to you. For maintenance, try to avoid those foods you can't have "just one"--for most people, it seems to be those foods high in both carbs and fat.

laloli 06-10-2013 07:29 AM

Thanks Cindy

You, and others on this site, give me hope I can really do this. Certain carbs are definitely a drug for me.
