Physical Therapy

Just finished week 1 and so far, so good. (Thanks to the pep talk after my "Slow Start" post, I'm feeling positive.) I found out today that my chronic shoulder pain will require PT twice a week to strengthen my rotator cuff. Anyone been on PT in e early phases of IP? I'm hoping it won't slow down my progress.

I go for the PT evaluation on Thursday. I don't know what exercises I will be doing, but have heard probably arm bands and other resistance training. The muscle is pretty weak so it will likely start out slow.

Anyone out there with experience?

I am starting week 2 today, and am actually going to my first PT meeting today as well for my back! I will let you know :-)

Hope you feel better.

Several of us have been in PT. I have been for a while now
Here is the good news:
IP is a diet that reduces inflammation. You will recover faster!

Follow the plan AND all your PT homework. Let the numbers on the scale fall where they may. Know you are recovering from more than one thing at once (rotator cuff and obesity).

If scale is slowed, your overall health will benefit anyway.
This is a win-win.

If your PT is a workout, don't forget to add another packet! The scale can actually slow if you don't get enough. If it is mostly stretching, the extra packet isn't necessary. Gauge your exertion. I was sweating last Thurs at PT. Definitely an extra packet day.

I was just released from physical therapy after starting Februry 19th for protruding disks. I had no problems doing IP and PT at the same time.

I played hockey from January-end of march on IP I still lost my weight. yes they say your not suppose to exercise when on it but I still did.. and had no issues.. my body is use to playing sports on little or no food it always made me sick so I never had an issue.

Thanks everyone! I need to get my shoulder stronger so I was hoping it wouldn't slow me down.
