Red face Sweet Cravings - Emotional Hunger in FULL Force!

This is probably a long shot, but I was wondering if there is something I can eat directly after my lunch that will curb my craving for something sweet. I just finished eating my chicken salad, but have a massive craving to eat a cupcake or chocolate! Red Alert! Red Alert! Eek!

I'm trying to stay strong. This is just my 4th day on the plan. Any ideas how to immediate get rid of this sweet food craving? I'm already drinking a lot of water and I'm not physically hungry...but it's that emotional feeling that's kicking in in full force right now.

For future reference, IS there anything that I can eat/drink that's sweet tasting yet has 0 carbs & 0 calories?

I'll pour myself a sparkling water with some sugar free Torani syrup. It really tames the beast!

I usually split my bars up into thirds or fourths since I love having a little bite of sweet throughout the day and they are yummy.

I find that flavored herbal tea with spenda helps me.

Herbal teas work well for me. Especially the fruity ones. I also like mio added to sparkling water. One of my favorite go to sweet snacks is zucchini steamed in the microwave with splenda and cinnamon. Curbs my need for a dessert.

Look for tetley's herbal teas like pina colada and peach bellini. They curb my sugar cravings quickly.

Make the chocolate banana bread and have that at lunch as your IP protein.
Itis so yummy snd cures the chocolate craving. The portion size keeps you full longer too.

Here is a link to help make better food choices when you are having cravings...a lot of the time a craving can mean you are lacking certain nutrients in your diet. If you are craving something sweet, there is a reason why, and there are other food options that can help satisfy your sweet tooth.

If you like pickles, munch on one of them. They say pickles help curb sweet cravings. I would suggest some extra water too to warrant off the extra sodium. I love pickles... Would be hard to stop at one! Lol

I also cut up the chocolate protein bar and take one piece when I need the chocolate. The cravings lessen as you go along.

A nice cup of hot coffee usually does it for me. Sometimes I add stevia or SF Davinci flavored syrups.

Thanks for the link, but on the Ideal Protein diet we have specific foods we can and can't eat, and unfortunately those suggestions don't work for us. Just wanted to clarify for any new folks that might get confused

I have several suggestions as I too have those cravings

Hot tea
Sparkling water with sugar free Torani syrup flavoring
Coffee or decaf with sugar free Torani syrup
One bite of a restricted bar

Good luck!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention, a few of my favorite teas right now are from Tea Forte:
Sweet ginger plum
Cherry marzipan
Blueberry merlot
Coconut mango colada
