2 months in
Well next Tuesday will be 2 months on IP. I know I am doing really well, next week Lord Willing I will hit the 60 lb mark. I have been debating whether or not to go off IP and do alternatives, I have a hard time justifying the expense when I see others do just as well on the alternatives. I am nervous to give up the accountability part of it. Next week I also am having surgery and my doctor says as long as my wound is healing okay I can stay on the diet. Wish me luck!

Congrats on the weight loss and I will be praying fro you with the surgery. I do alternative products and it works fine. I have a support group on FB that helps out a lot. You can always go back to IP products again if you find urself needing the weekly checkins! Hang in there you are doing awesome!

What is your support group called?

I am 10 1/2 weeks in at 32 lbs lost. This is my first official week in a 50/50 of IP and alternatives. The cost is extremely different but I have to say that I am worried that the "magic" of losses will not work for me. However, in my rational mind it is science and there is no reason it wont. But, I am stringing along my clinic when I am getting less food from them not wanting to say anything. In reality, IP products are too much money for my budget right now and this is my journey and experience.
I followed the great suggestions listed in the alternative thread. Some of the things do not give me the same hunger relief satisfaction that IP does. |
Can anyone tell me what the products cost? Just a rough idea. I started last week, so tomorrow is the first weigh in and my first purchases. She gave me about 9 days worth of products. I'll be a bit annoyed if I find out it is outrageously expensive. I had done some research and it appeared that IP was cheaper than Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem and the coach told me it would be about $30 - 50 a week.

You may want to make sure your coach is using actual Ideal Protein products - $30 per week is closer in price to "alternative" or off-brand products. I also did a lot of research before starting the diet, and when the coach advised me of the cost for the Ideal Protein brand stuff, it was in line with the $30 per BOX of food (you need 3 boxes per week, plus nutritional supplements as this is NOT a nutritionally balanced diet plan) that I found online. |
What is the alternative plan?

There IS an official Ideal Protein "Alternative Phase 1" - it is for diabetics and people whose bodies don't tolerate the low carbs well. Your body does not get into ketosis and it's a lot more like a Weight Watchers type plan. |

Hello, I am researching this (I just ordered a two week supply of New Lifestyle diet) and wondered can you purchase the program online? I've searched my area and there doesn't seem to be a clinic close. Just curious.
Thanks. |

I do not believe Ideal Protein administers the program online themselves. Plainprotein.com sells the product (at the moment), but there has been some buzz lately that they may be converting to selling alternative products because Ideal Protein is no longer allowing online sales.
