I'm Hungry!
its my first day on program... only 10:25 am here in Alaska and I'm so hungry. This morning i had black coffee with a splenda, the pineapple/banana drink, vitamins and 2 bottles of water. i've already had another 2 bottles of water and 2 pickles... i think i'm really hungry because my baby wakes me up before 6am so i've been up for a while... will this eventually get better after i've gone into ketosis?:o

Yes it will get better! I would say within 4 or 5 days. At least that was my experience. Water will help so keep drinking it!
And personally I don't ever read the daily chat thread. Too much I don't care about in it. I think where you posted this is just fine! Glad to have you aboard! |
my coach said if Iam hungry to have a sugar free jello cup 5 cal 0 carb 0 sugar and that hasnt affected my loses at all. I also add lemon to my water It will get better. Also for the first week it is ok to have 4 pkts I sometimes had 5 the first week.

Remember, you can also have lettuce. A salad has gotten me through on many rough days.

You'll see lots of people enjoy spinach smoothies -- take your shake or pudding package and put it in the blender with lots of ice for cold, or add your hot drink to it for a thicker cappucino -- whatever you prefer. Personally, when I add ice (and yes, a good helping of spinach too -- you'll never know it's there!) one package can make 2-3 big thick drinks, which might help you if the morning feels long.
Remember too, you can have a 2 eggwhite omelette, which by the time you add some veggies into that can also help fill you up. I love making rotini salad -- rotini, lots of fresh veggies, and some WF dressings. If I'm having a super hungry day, I add that on top of lettuce. I cook 2 packs at a time, but that makes 4 fairly good sized helpings, so my lunch salad might also be a late morning, or early afternoon snack for only the 1 pack. |
The first few days are tough. When I started, another person in my office building, who had lost 90 lbs through a low carb diet, told me that every morning she would say to herself, Well it didn't kill me yesterday so I can make it through today. I replayed that many times! I am a morning eater so I can appreciate your hunger pains. I would eat egg whites made into an omelet with mushrooms, onions and peppers for breakfast to get as much food as possible on P1 early in the day. An IP drink in the morning wasn't sufficient for me. Hang in there, it is worth it.

I definitely found by making my morning meal a little more substantial it helped the early hunger pangs! i made the IP omelet with an added egg white (i use the carton if only whites) and further supplemented with 1/2 to 1 cup lightly sautéed veggies (keeping them slightly crisp is more satisfying). I also used a cup of decaf about 30 min later to further satisfy me and that easily took me into lunch.
i could then do a soup or shake w/salad including the balance of the 2 cups if veggies (saving 2 cups for dinner.) Having a more substantial meal in the morning really helped keep me satisfied!! Laurie |
I am a breakfast person, so a drink would never be able to keep me going for very long. I saute a cup of mushrooms and then mixup an IP Omelet with an extra egg white and scramble it all until done. That holds me over until noon.
I don't know how anybody can have just a drink for breakfast...I would be gnawing my arm off if I did that...LOL!!! Keep at it, you'll do great! |
I started today also! I was starving by the afternoon, but I think it's more
psychological for me. |
